If the price is right
For 20 bucks this game is great. there are alot of bugs and if your gonna go stealth the whole game you must never walk. Bugs aside the game is great its Mass Effect the spy version.

An ok spy game.
To be honest it does not excel in any of the gameplay mechanics (spy, shooting, melee), but overall it is worth the budget price I bought at.

Good Espionage Game
RPG with espionage element, don't miss it, great price.

It promised a lot but came out short on every aspect. If you want a good infiltration game go for MGS4.
On the other hand it's a bargain for this price.

Could have been a good game
The game could have been a good RPG game, but sadly the excessive glitch, poor graphics, and sad gameplay brings it down. The story is good and all but the gameplay feels that everything was rushed. when given the diaouge choice you have a timer to tell how much time you have left to decide which option to choose, but the timer immidiately starts when the npc is already speaking giving you less time to decide which dialouge choices to use unless you are a very fast reader. Then there are the weapons and gear purchasing which seems impossible to buy till near the end of the game, so you are basically stuck using the same equipment through out most of the story and you cannot even pick up the enemies dropped weapons.
So far this game feels that everything was rushed, none of the game testers ever tested the game, and also feels like a really low budget game. If they have thought out properly on the gameplay, fixed all of the glitches, and improved the graphics this could have been one of those "must have" rpg games, but sadly it isn't.

Decent first spy-gaming RPG
It's not easy to love because of its poor graphics and clumsy control scheme, but it's hard to not get engaged with it. The storyline and decision mechanics are great but the framerate issues and poor animations bring this title down a few notches.

definitely worth the Play Asia price
Fundamentatlly flawed, but at this price it is a bargain. If you want a not-as-great version of Deus Ex: HR, then get give it a try

Interesting concept, but not quite there
I liked the game and I thought the idea behind it was great. Unfortunately it doesn't really live up to its potential. Providing you with different ways to approach the missions is great, but it is let down by the boss fights the only way to win tends to be firepower. There certainly never is a way to win by using stealth only.
Still, an enjoyable game and one I would recommend.

Underrated
Alpha Protocol is a good game – not only for its story, but also for its characters. Some of the characters you interact with are really well-thought of and unique. It does a lot of things right to make it an engaging character driven experience that could have had a bit more time to polish up some things. Provides solid soundtrack and graphics and an RPG experience that is not very common in today's gaming market – high-tech espionage RPG.

Cheap but.....
$19.90 on offer is good enough but...why the disc got scratches all over it? Not say I'm fond of it right now...the game is still quite new... (less than a year at least)
Looks more like an used game to me :(

I wish I could go higher...
This is a very nice idea for a game. The voice work is very good (not as good as Mass Effect). The characters are interesting. I love stealth. Most of the time, the game is really fun and satisfying. That's the good.
The graphics are somewhat dated. The AI is dumb. The controls are confusing. The upgrades are overpriced ($4,000 for 30 subsonic bullets?). That's the so-so.
The bad, and it's substantial:
1) For a game that encourages stealth, it seems preposterous that almost all the boss missions require heavy firepower and the skills to use it. 95% of the game is done very effectively with sneaking and hand-to-hand combat, and then suddenly you have to whip out an assault rifle and blow away scores of baddies and a boss who is nearly impervious to damage. Nowhere was this more true than in the Konstantin Brayko mission. If the game is a sneaker, the bosses need to be vulnerable to those kinds of attacks (a la Hitman). If it's a FPS, then the character classes and weapons need to be a little more balanced.
2) The dialog system is a nightmare. You are given very little time to pick from 3 words that supposedly sum up the comment that you'll make in response, WHILE THE OTHER PERSON IS TALKING. It's very hard to process what they're saying while reading a list of possible responses and trying to guess what words will ensue when you choose one. This can lead to massive frustration, as something like "Interested" could mean "Interested in hearing what she has to say," or "Interested in having sex with her." It's a terrible system. The worst I've ever seen.
3) The save system is a hair-pulling nightmare. There is only one auto-save slot, which means that if you want to go back (usually to undo damage from picking a poorly-labeled response in dialog), you often can't. You also can't even get out during dialog to just give up and do the mission again. You have your choice between "the last checkpoint we saved at some random location, maybe one second after you realized you have messed up" or "go back to the very beginning of the hour-long mission." The only save option you control is saving the last checkpoint, which is pointless since you probably don't want to save every single one, but you won't know if you want to get back to one until its too late.
I really want to love this game, and it certainly has been unfairly maligned for the graphics (games are a lot more than graphics), but there are some serious flaws in this title.

Nice Enough Game I Suppose.
The only point that keeps you on the game is that all choices that you make will have a lasting impact on the storyline. A variety of different ways that you can approach missions & develop your character, but not much beyond that.
The so called cover mechanics are really bad. Visuals can be really bland & the texture very rough. AI is downright stupid so much so it make gunplay & stealth really hard at times.

Tactics?
If you want a decent game where you want to create you own story(kinda) here's the game
The aiming system is horrible, unless you know what to do
other then that, you can get around and finish your objectives
If you're a Mass Effect Fan, this is recommended other then the bugs in it

However, the aiming system has issues, the gameplay is decent and the voice acting stands out. Not the best game in Obsidian's stable, but an entertaining entry. If you want a game similar to Mass Effect with a spy theme then look no further, but be prepared to deal with the errors.

The game is similar to The Knights of the Republic and Mass Effect in that your dialogue choices have an outcome in later portions of the game.
