Cool game! What a good game! The price is also very good! Although I don't play it online, but at least I can enjoy the 12 chapters of the offline mode.
By no means a Great game. Before i write this, i am someone who has played the game offline only so i will not be giving a review of the online portion.
So if you were buying this for PC, you would have to have Gameguard which the game installs on your PC, those that don't know what Gameguard is, and what it does, you can always read up, it saves the time explaining and besides PS2 version doesn't need this.
Okay.. where to start.
Phantasy Star Universe is the long awaited newest Offline/Online Phantasy Star Game.
It has 12 or so Chapters in its story mode, and around chapter 3 you can play extra mode, which you can make your own character and walk about doing missions, however you need to complete the game to unlock everything in said mode.. think of it as the offline version of online.
the story involves Ethan Waber, a guy/boy that pretty much joins up with GUARDIANS, and goes on missions, and thus the story unfolds
i found the sound average at best, the graphics are basic but livable.
also.. the game does get kinda repetative.
Basically a mission involves Cutscene, text scene, then whacking monsters area after area after area, more scene, and then boss, then end of chapter.
i like the chapter music for each chapter they have this song that plays that feels kinda soap opera like, and the ending part for every chapter is nice too
if you want a game you can just relax in.. well if you don't expect a deep game by all means
however if you are looking for a super deep game, stay away.
the online version isnt half bad, just you gotta pay if you wanna use
