Halo® 3: ODST returns players to familiar ground on a vital, top-secret mission. The gripping story, cooperative campaign and new multiplayer content will have Halo fans "Preparing to Drop" in Fall 2009. Originally titled Halo 3: Recon, the new game brings the perspective of new characters to the Human-Covenant struggle, as it explores the ODST, or Orbital Drop Shock Troopers.
70% Hype... First off, I feel that the single player of any Halo game is the same thing, killing the same 5 or 6 different aliens with the same 5 or 6 guns over and over again. The Single player campaign here is no different. You get a new HUD which is helpful in firefights and 2 or 3 new guns, but thats it. The major charm with this game is the bonus disc with all of the Multiplayer maps from Halo 3, and the new Firefight Mode. These would have been enough for a standalone game, however the matchmaking system that made Halo 3 Multiplayer wicked is nowhere to be found, which means time in lobbies is back with a vengeance. Once you're in, its all good, and everything is still a blast, but these annoyances make ODST feel like it should have been DLC instead of a $50 standalone...
What's left to be said... I think everyone here has summed up Halo from their likes to their dislikes. Thus one can only add that this game is a very good Halo game, and is very unique in every sense. There is much more stealth involved in this game and you feel as though you are alone and vulnerable in New Mombasa. Those who are thinking of buying this game, I highly recommend it.
Good game Sure you're not playing as the universe's only hope, sure you're not involved in a highly adrenaline charged dramatic mission but it sure is a great game.
