Take what out?!
With this iPod case, the best protection your iPod gets is the fact that you have no reason to take it out the case. There is an opening for connecting your cable and connecting your headphones, abd the cover (attached by tiny magnets) can easily flip up to give you access to the wheel and hold switch (as apposed to feeling through a plastic cover).
The case is quite durable and can take a bit of a beating, although it would not be recommended since the 30GB iPod DOES use a hard drive, and the case can be carried by a clip or shoulder strap. The clip is also nice that it does not slip off your belt, and the case can easily come off by pressing down the top-side clip button and lifting the case up and off. The case also rotates 360 degrees on the clip.
I would Highly, HIGHLY recommend this case to anyone with a 30GB iPod, as it is cheaper than most decent cases, protects you device very well, and is definitely more convenient.

I love this case
Greatest case I've ever used for my 30GB iPod.
It fits tight so it won't fall out. Once inside, you'll never have to take it out, because the headphone jack and docking connection are exposed for charging and playing. Just flip open the front and you can cycle through songs and lock the player from accidentally adjusting volume or skipping tracks (although the flap is strong enough to prevent that unless applying excessive force, on pupose). the flap shuts using a light but strong magnet on the bottom corners so its easy to pull off with no mess or sound like velcro.
You can clip to your belt and remove from the clip by squeezing down and pulling up. The clip is made to come off your belt with two hands, as it has a hook to grab from the bottom to prevent sliding upward and off. And you have shoulder straps as well if you are more comfortable keeping it tight on your body.
I would highly recommend this case over any other product offered anywhere.

Wonderful case
I love this case! I was a little nervous, since the flap has two small magnets at the bottom to hold it shut. I had an Apple rep take a look, and he said the magnets would not be strong enough to effect the ipod. I have not been without it since then. The flip cover is great, and the magnets help keep it closed. Easy to take your ipod out and slips right back in- very secure & snug fit. The clip is quick to slip on, versatile and adjustable.

The ipod fits perfectly, with openings for the wheel, screen, earphones, and the dock connector. The case is very well made, leather, slightly padded for protection. The pink color is very soft and light, white inside.
