One of the best RPGs ever made
Mistwalker did a masterpiece in Lost Odyssey. With its very engaging story, endearing characters and stunning visuals, it is definitely on of the best RPGs I have played. The writing is superb, very heartrending and also does a good job in social commentary. This game will really immerse you with its story and environment.

The gameplay is simple but works perfectly. Grinding is avoided by level-capping. Equipment system is simplified and is made more interesting by using rings and skill accessories / skill linking with other characters.

The music done by Nobuo Uematsu, of course, is top-notch. The game's music does a good job in setting you in the mood -- whether you're about to kick butt or just simply wander around the towns. The music also helps in climaxing the story, as it really defines the mood along with the character dialogues.

English dubbing is superb. No complaints about that at all. I would actually recommend you to use the English dub because the voices fit the characters very well.

This is definitely worth your money and time. Highly recommended for all fans of Japanese RPGs, and those who are looking for good RPG experience for the XBOX 360.

Flash to the past!
Lost Odyssey isn't out to break any new ground. With the old creators of Final Fantasy and backed by the music of Nobuo Uematsu, Lost Odyssey will feel much like the spiritual successor to Final Fantasy 10. Two things that it does try to do differently include leveling limits that prevent grinding and special characters that learn abilities from regular ones.

The classic approach to combat and might grate on some, but for those that want a traditional JRPG with a shiny Xbox360 presentation, this game won't disappoint.

PS: This game benefits GREATLY from the Xbox360's save to hard drive feature. A definite must-have, as it significantly reduces this game's otherwise excessive loading times.

as old skool rpgs go its pretty ausome
Got this ages ago, thought it was pretty quality. Good characters, story, graphics ect, does slow down after a while and the battles do become hard but I guess thats like most rpgs to be honest.

Average Game
The game starts out great. The graphics are great and the story seems promising. But as you play you notice that battles take forever. This is because in each new battle they show the area of the battle and the monsters before th battle starts. The battle progressions are pretty slow too. I also found that area bosses were more difficult than the monsters in the area. Most of the skills ans spells you are given aren't that effective. I really didn't care for the ring battle systme, didn't add anything interting. The game really slows down in the 4th diak and puts you in some battles that are just too hard (the 4 monsters with a time limit.) It actually becomes a chore to actually want to beat this game. When this game came out it was one of the only rpgs in the market. If you are considering a better rpg now go with Tales of Vesperia.

Great JRPG
Its a great game. Must buy for JRPG fans, definitely worth the money.
