description
The game that started the popular survival horror genre returns better than ever! Players control Edward Carnby, the main character from the original Alone in the Dark, on a thrilling journey through a dark and terrifying re-creation of New Yorks Central Park where Carnby must discover the truth behind a dark conspiracy.
With inspiration from the presentation style of popular action TV dramas, Alone in the Dark will be split into a number of distinct episodes. With approximately 30-40 minutes of gameplay comprising each episode, the structure of Alone in the Dark pulls you into world that delivers a fiercely gripping and terrifying experience. Each time the player launches a saved game, the episode will begin with a video summary of the previous episode to quickly re-immerse the player in the story and removing the need to remember where they were or what they were doing. Every episode will close with a nail-biting cliff-hanger ending to rattle players nerves, and if the player is leaving the game a video teaser of the next episode will play to leave them wanting more.
Alone in the Dark will provide a complete next-generation, action packed experience within a highly detailed, free roaming environment, featuring a mixture of real-time physics and full environmental interaction. The game will mark a new beginning for the Alone in the Dark series.

Not my idea of fun!
I didn't have much fun with this game at all.
At first I was impressed by the range of things you are able to make your character do but it didn't take long for that feeling to wear off. The controls are neither intuitive or easy to master. I felt like I was constantly struggling with them whether it be managing my inventory, traversing the game world or (and this was the worst part) trying to engage in some form of combat.
The world itself is quite interesting with and intriguing story and decent pacing/set pieces.
I also liked the problem solving elements of the game, using fire to overcome certain obstacles for example.
The graphics, sound, menus, etc. The mechanics, if you will, were all serviceable, none stood out as being worthy of mention.
Still I personally would not bother with the game, I found little or no fun to be had. Perhaps liberal use of the game's ability to skip points (this game is made in the vein of TV series) could help a curious player get all they possibly can from the game value wise.

The operation is bad
The operation of Wii is quite difficult.
The level of graphic is equal to ps2.

Good game but it drops the ball somewhere
There are some terrible technical flaws with control issues and camera problems. However, the game's graphics and story line are really good, with some dramatic moments that are very nice. It's worth under 20 dollars

Flawed masterpiece
This is one of the more imaginative and ambitious games in recent years. The characters and environments are well detailed, and the fire, fog and shadow really adds to the atmosphere. But poor animation and some plasticky look on the character models somewhat mar the experience. The controls did present difficulties but can be easily overcome. While Alan Wake is definitely a better game, this game is definitely worth the price on its own.
