example of a game well done!
GTA IV is a revolutionary game that manages to maintain its strong tradition and elements that made the franchise famous. It is an undeniable classic and a great reason to buy a video game of the new generation.

Good but not excellent
GTA IV is a good game but it's not the perfect masterpiece some would lead you to believe.

Correct story and setting, a very large city (but lifeless in my opinion, with a glaring lack of things to do), plenty of car chasing and shooting scenes and a curious "dating" system using a virtual cellular phone.

For me, the worst thing about the game (and others from the GTA series) is that you have to start again a quest from the very beginning if you fail to complete it. That's frustrating and it's always what it makes me to abandon each GTA game.

A Step Down.
Firstly I will say that the graphics of this game are extremely enjoyable, driving around during the rain with all the lighting is a pleasure.

But I feel this has been a step down from your usual grand theft auto. Personally i enjoy the older GTA's because it had the feel that you could really monopolize the "industry" and have a hand in every basket, buying rackets houses and businesses, storing cars getting guns and at times even black hawk helicopters.
Where as number 4 lacks the ability to buy houses frequently and maximize on cash flow. Feels like all the money is spent on weapons and deaths. Not feeling like i'm progressing with anything but the story made it feel a bit monotonous as there was also a lack of side stuff to actually do with good purpose, or even with a fun purpose.
Story lines decent but it's not enough.
