Coolest Italian in a video game since you-know-who.
I've only just begun to play this game, and it is utterly fantastic. The visuals look great, the controls handle even better than the original game, and the story is more straightforward than the original as well.
Good gameplay + immersive environment + guards you can escape from = A solid grade of A+

Better than before...
This game is much better than its predecessor. you can equip the character with different weapons and costumes, and use weapons of your enemies to defend yourself. The graphics are great and the gameplay is perfect, but eventually can become tiring.

In any case, it is a great game, I recommend both if you've tried before or not, because they are different adventures.

Great game
Fans of the previous game will be very impressed with Assassin's Creed II. I must say that the previous game was quite disappointing. I felt it had a lot of potential as a game but the repetitive gameplay and frame-rate issues made it a big let down. This time though things have changed drastically for the good. I have yet to complete the game but have played enough to formulate a review.

Decent
Uses the same engine as the first, so players familiar with the previous installment will have no problems getting right back into the game.
I personally did not enjoy the new environments (time period, setting, etc.), but they were definitely beautiful.
Not GOTY material, but worth the $60.00 price tag.
