A worthy investment Perhaps for the few who never bought the Xbox 360, this game is still a good investment. Despite the language barriers, you'll get through it even with just gameplay. It makes me want to practice my Japanese reading skills too.
Strongest in the franchise! I've played nearly every tales game, only missing two DS ones, and ToD2, and this one took the top when I played it back on the 360. Now that it's been put on the PS3, it's even better! There's so much more to this one than the first. My only regret is that they still haven't been able to bring the game over, as I'm sure it would do awesomely over here. As for being import friendly, if you've played the 360 version before, or just played the recent tales games, you could probably get through the game. Though you won't be able to truly enjoy unless you're able to read and understand Japanese. I would suggest either learning Japanese, or holding out on an English localization.
2nd Iteration is always better Thanks to Microsoft paying a huge sum of money to make this game exclusive to 360 for a year, Namco use that money to make it even better for PS3. Get this if you're still thinking about it.
What the PS3 was lacking... a good RPG In a few words... this game is great!
When it was released on the 360 i bought and played it, got 100% and, of course, all the achievements. Now that it was released on the PS3 with a lot of new content, the great RPG it was in the 360 gets transformed into the BEST RPG on the PS3.
Flashy fights, pretty graphics, nice characters... thats usual in Namco Bandai's Tales of games. And as different as the usual RPG, Tales are known for having lots of replay value, and this one is not the exception... finishing the game and getting everything is like half of the game, the best stuff comes after you finish it, and games like that are worth the money.
If you like RPGs, but don't like the boring "pick attack and watch the character do the rest" this is a game to try out.
