Also, history's greatest ally is revealed in the form of Elika, a dynamic AI companion who joins the Prince in his fight to save the world. Gifted with magical powers, she interacts with the player in combat, acrobatics and puzzle-solving, enabling the Prince to reach new heights of deadly high-flying artistry through special duo acrobatic moves or devastating fighting combo attacks.
Good but... The game is very beautifull and poetic, the story is cool but standard and the gameplay is not bat but (and it is really important!), the game is too freaking easy! You will spend the most of your time going in the good direction and jumping at the good moment, without thinking
Excellent game. I was surprised by this wonderful game. The concept art based on comics was very pleasant. And the game is style "open world", providing hours of operation. But the best of the game that is Elika and the dialogues with her. One of the best games I've played so far. The bad reviews received by him are very unfair.
Great! A great game, for a very good price, no excuses to leave it, a must buy if you love adventure and prince of persia ;)

A very good platformer - and it's really funny Prince of Persia is a beautiful game in any respect. The graphics are awesome, as is the art design. The gameplay is slick, fast and rewarding. But my personal favourite are the dialogues between the Prince and Elika. Downright hilarious and awesome voicework.
Still, not a complete 5-star game. That is, because the gameplay is absolutely repetetive. After finishing the first few 'levels', there won't be much new stuff coming. Still, this is okay, as it is a very good formula. And there is plenty of content to play through. You might get 10hrs of solid, fun gamplay out of this platformer.
Buy it. Now.

Enjoyable I haven't played the POP's from the last gen (shame on me I know - it shall be sorted soon!) so I'm reviewing this less severe than others (perhaps I'll change my mind after Sands of Time).
The game is fun to play, the titular prince handles very well and I must admit that I enjoyed the somewhat open nature of the game - particularly when considering some of the achievements.
The graphics are delightful and the music enchanting, the only negative aspect is the voice acting (more later) though if you hate cell-shaded graphics you will take a dislike to the new Prince.
The major flaw to the game is the plot - for me a plot in this type of game is secondary (I'm not expecting Mass Effect), but I never really cared. Plus, the ending was a major 'facepalm' of stupidity. The actors are severely lacking in charisma and are irritating gits, who sound like they belong in some banal US sitcom rather than a classic Middle Eastern tale.
All in all, a fun game well-worth it 'current' low price.
I would like to address the accusations about how easy the game is, 'you never die'. Though true that the prince doesn't die, you can screw up. When you should be killed in a fight or should fall to your death, Eleka saves you. A helping hand from Eleka is like a quick reload or returing to a checkpoint. Anyone who's complaining about how easy the game is, was probably saved by Eleka dozens of times and therefore did 'die'. They screwed up, I screwed up and you will screw up - miss a jump and hurtle toward a bottomless pit, or get stabbed by a bad guy/gal reducing health to zero. These situations will reset you to the last stable platform of give the enemy you are fighting a health boost. I found the system very good for maintaining the flow of the game because I never had to wait for a silly loading screen. Flow is vital in a game like this.
awesome! Except for a major bug that I experienced, I can still say that this game is awesome. Its quite easy too if you want to earn an easy Platinum trophy!!

Not up to par with previous PoP A little disappointed with the gameplay and storyline of Prince of Persia. I'm a massive fan of the previous installments - Sands of Time, Warrior Within and The Two Thrones. This one didn't live up to the others unfortunately.

Beautiful game, pity about the game play I'll say one thing, Ubisoft Montreal has made a beautiful game. The graphics are superb and everything looks fantastic. Everything else doesn't sound or play quite as well.
The dialogue (which was one of my favorite parts of the other Prince of Persia games) has become incredibly ego centric and the prince is now a wise cracking thief. Not exactly a sympathetic character or one I want to spend any time around. And I find it difficult to press the button whenever I have to speak to his companion for any information.
The levels are okay and you get the same level of design and high flying as in previous games. However, I find myself irritated at the infinite life system that's been implemented. At least with the sands of time you could eventually be punished for bad play. As an open world game, the difficulty curve plateaus constantly and the combat system is slow and boring.
Still, seeing the vistas and working your way through the areas for the first time can be fun.
good looking The game looks great and the musicis awesome. The gameplay is easy- a bit too easy- and fun. Although there aren't much fighting action and some boss fights are repetitive, its a great game to play just for the way it looks.
Nice Game A really nice game. Very easy to play, but doesn´t expect for much action... The game is an adventure with amazing graphics and a good story.

LOOKS GREAT, PLAYES GREAT... This game is as gorgeous to watch as it is to play.
Very easy buttons, very fluid play.
Voice acting is not too bad either... one of the better peformances.
Stop reading this review, and go and buy it!

Beautiful A very beautiful game, fluid animation, music etc. though can become mildly repetitive.
Sweet deal at low price I am not a fan of previous Price of Persia, partly due to the high repetitive of trial and error to get through a puzzle.
This version is different! you can't technically die in game, it made the game play so much better. and the graphic is stylist as a HD comic book. Buy it while it is CHEAP!! You wont regret!!

Royal fun Over the top presentation, snappy dialogues and goofy characters make this jump and run soap opera a fun and adventurous experience everyone can and should enjoy.
All thumbs up.
nice game. Fun, visually stunning, and compelling fantasy adventure. The history and game play are not so great as "Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within" but still fun.

Great game and graphics Agree with the reviews below. Excellent graphics, music and playability. The voice acting for the various characters is top-notch.
Controls are precise, you wall-run, leap, swing and climb exactly where you want the Prince to, and you won't get lost with the directional hint trigger. This is what PoP is all about.
The dialogue between the Prince and Erika is very humorous and witty. Be sure to keep pressing LT to complete every conversion you start.
Visually appealing This is a beautiful game. The game play is satisfying. The voice acting is good. A great platformer. Easy to pick up and play. Great for beginners because your character can't die, but this might be a deterrent for people who love a challenge.
A wonderful, breathing world! The prince is back and this time the light-hearted gameplay is back in action. The interesting story, wonderful music and visuals make this game one of a kind. Buy this game now!
Great Battle System Great battle system ever... graphic so smooth and the story was amazing. Heard that UBI soft have plan to making the new POP, cannot wait.....
Best Prince The best Prince of Persia. Great graphics and great story.

Return to Roots What a great job Ubisoft Montreal has done with the Prince of Persia series with this installment. They have taken out the emphasis on combat which started to turn the Prince of Persia series into a mediocre franchise. What they have done is returned the game to it's platforming roots, with a little bit of combat in between. What we're left with is a great game with loads of platforming, jaw dropping scenery, amazing graphical art styles, and a genius musical score. The story has sucked me in and I'm really looking forward to the next installment.

Good graphics with loads of challenges The game has great graphics and the images were well rendered and true to the Prince of Persia legacy with much Arabic influence.
The game is rather forgiving with assistance along the way allowing exploration without the need to be too worried.
Gamers who enjoy games like Ninja Gaiden would enjoy the scaling walls and jumping around getting past tricky spaces.
No title I love the Prince of Persia Series, I have been there playing since the very beginning. But this release did not leave a good taste... I was expecting more for the characters (graphics and movement wise), and the controls failed to deliver in a lot of places. Too short for the price too...
mixed feelings... PoP breathes much needed life into the platformer genre and excels in many areas--gameplay, controls, story, characters, graphics (beautiful btw), etc. my only issue with this game is that... YOU CAN'T DIE! i understand why they did it, and some people might like this, but for me it makes it a little less interesting.
So close , yet so far !!! Prince of persia for the Ps3 is a flawed master piece . Don't get me wrong this is a good game , but it couldn't deliver the control and pure combat pleasure of the Prince of Persia trilogy on the ps2 .
The story is decent , game play get a bit boring ( Ubisoft we need the prince's old fighting style back) , graphics are drop dead gorgeous and stuart chartwood has created an alluring audio composition for this game . The well detailed 1080p scenery combined with beautiful audio, mysteriously compensates for the shallow game play and average story line .
What bugs me the most is that i bought this game for around $60 - 70 when it just released , which is totally not worth it . If you like action / adventure over toned with fantasy then i recommend this game. Its worth the $35 .
One of the best Prince of persia I have ever played! This game it was so amazing, it has a very human history and awesome graphics, excelent gameplay, and this is a must have game, if you like great histories in a videogame.
Prince of Persia-A review from a platform noobie Prince of Persia is essentially a platform game, and as far as I can tell, platforming is a love/hate thing. The cel-shaded design that POP has undergone certainly helps the game stand out among the mountain of games that seem to only contain brown paint pallets, and each level is varied and unique, each presenting its own challenges. Basically a great evil has once again been unleashed upon the world, and it is your job to put it back in its cage. Early in the game you meet a princess who serves the temple in which the evil was stored and I won't go into very much spoiler-rific detail, but she comes along to help. She has her own magic spells that will help you defeat monsters and the such, and she will ALWAYS revive you should you fall. That's a major flaw in this game. You just can't die. There really is no penalty when fighting monsters if you die, except they gain some health. Apart from that though, the game is beautiful and the controls are slick and extremely responsive. If you've never played a platformer, it may be worth picking it up to see what it's all about. If you're a platforming veteran, there are some genuine puzzles and challenges, but the fact that dieing has no effect may put you off a bit.

Prince of Persia... nice game, story and graphix.. and you can't die in this game. But what's makes it more good... it's raining gamer points . :)

This game rocks!!! Super graphics and great story telling. Now this is what i wanted to see on the XBox! The climbing parts are however a bit weird but anyhow it gets 5 stars.
Prince of Persia The original Prince Of Persia was launched in 1989. The hit game has gone through many reiterations, resulting in loss of the original essence of the game. The new Prince Of Persia tries to reclaim the original spirit of the game - levels of puzzle solving, some romance, one-on-one combat - in quality hand-drawn 3D graphics. The story starts off with the protagonist thief braving the desert storm in search of Farah, which turns out to be his donkey carrying a ton of his ill-begotten gold. Before he knows it, a princess falls from above and into his arms. Their fates intertwined, they must now team up to stop the evil God of Darkness from escaping the sacred temple. To do that, they need to travel across many different areas to collect "light seeds". The prince needs to climb columns and vines, slide down slopes and jump across fissures.
cool the game is awsome.everything is perfect except for one thing : YOU CANT DIE IN THIS GAME,u cant from falling from a cliff or by enemies but the rest is just cool
