Very durable! It will need a lot of gaming before you'll need to replace it with a new one. Just make sure to clean it every once in a while. I use some drops of water and a clean sheet to dry it to make it shine again.

Best screen protectors you can get. Don't settle for the Hori fakes on eBay...play-asia's are the real deal.

They feel kind of sticky/rubbery after applying and the stylus can't move smoothly but the trick is to rub all over the screen with your finger and you'll notice that it comes off. I think it's just some kind of residue from the overlying sheet that was on it before application...and so just rub it off and it will be silky smooth!

After you put for the first time it is really sticky, but pass your finger on it a couple of time and it get heavenly smoot to slide the stylus.
Little tricky to put for the first time IF you dont know the clear adhesive tape trick. The upper surface sticks to the tape but the lower, the one wich makes contack with the screen, don't!
If it gets really dirt:
use clear tape to remove it;
still holding the screen protector with tape, wash with soap and plenty of water;
dry it with your t-shirt, for example;
and clean all particules left by the shirt on the lower surface with anothe piece of tape;
clean the DS screen then aply the protector still holding by the holy tape;
adjust in the correct position;
hold the protector with your finger and take out the tape you was using to hold the protector;
job done!!

the thing is the protector itself feels kinda rubbered or sticky what makes the stylus travel not so smooth as it should be and is with other protectors,frankly speaking it's not smooth and comfortable at all, makes the games with slide movements being unplayeble

After comparing this thing to ones local gamestop had, these one, my application of protectors was not perfect one, but i was happy (two air bublles because i had remove and reapply the protectors, and use my nail take protector out what folded them little)

One thing is, get some clear tape (it doesn't NEED to be clear but it is best) For these reasons:
1) This is tool you use remove the protectors, even the instructions "say" so.
2) You can use tape on dusty parts of the protector bottom (what goes againts screen) to remove dust.

Also, if you have SMALL scrathes (kind what cannot be seen if you aren't in sun) These protectors HIDE them from bottom screen, but if you have BIG scratches that make screen color rainbowy in some angles, those won't hide...

In the end, from any other screen protector, THESE are the best, no doubt that!

Excellent! The Best of the Best.
This product is indeed the best of its kind! People say "oh no, it's so complicated to put it on", blah blah blah, but it's easy. All you have to do is BE CAREFUL and TAKE YOUR TIME. Actually, once you have the position right, it literally secures itself into place, with NO air bubbles! I have a PDA screen protector/filter and I have to push it in manually, leaving bubbles all over the place, unlike the HORI protector. Once it's done and overwith, you'll be glad you did. I don't even notice it and it even makes everything amazingly clearer! Definately a great buy.

Really tricky and therefore not good!
I had many problems to get the protection sheets on my Nintendo DS and in the end I had to put one of them into the trash can. This is really disappointing because I have other protection sheets for my iPod and cell phone where something like hadn't happened.

It is quite easy to put these on provided your screen is clean, but getting the screens clean isn't easy, that's the problem. Anyway, if you got them installed properly you will not even notice they are there, which is brilliant.

The way they look, the way they are to be applied, these protectors are just great! @neurokwarg: if these protectors weren't slightly smaller than the screens, it would hardly be possible to apply them correctly. Five stars for me!

Quality protection
These are excellent screenprotectors. Although the instructions are in Japanese, it is easy to apply them by just looking at the pictures. Take your time and don't rush things (I would buy two units just in case).
When you applied them correctly you should notice a immediate visual improvement plus enhanced sensitivity and accuracy on the touchscreen.

In the end I must give it only 4 stars, it could have been a perfect 5. Why you ask? The screenprotectors are NOT the exact same same size as the DS screens as they are off by 1mm. It ain't so bad for the top screen but the bottom screen I consider to be the most important, and now the edges are unprotected. It is very unlikely your stylus will ever set foot there but dust collects and gathers like they are micro-trenches.

Pretty Easy but..
I've bought and tried a few in the past but had problems, but recently found how to properly apply them and it is a breeze apart from having to remove the dust from the screen beforehand.
Things to watch out for are: DO NOT touch the adhesive side beforehand and for some reason some of them come out scratched already and I did apply the right side of the protector.

Excellent Protector. Just be patient with it!
I put these on as soon as I took the DS out of the box and worked like a dream. When I put the top one on for the first time, there were no air bubbles or dust, but it was a bit misaligned. Scotch tape really works wonders with lifting the protectors and with lifting dirt off of the adhesive side (happened when I applied the bottom one). Just be patient. My screen looks fabulous (no yellow tint) and I really couldn't be happier.

Wonderful thing I say. Quite easy to apply. Protects the screen nicely. BUT my touch screen protector is yellowish and everytime someone looks at it, they think my DS Lite has a yellowish screen (which is a defect for some DS Lites). Overall, good protector which is easy to apply and reapply if accidently applied wrongly.

Great Protectors, Just Be Careful
The protectors are great and all, but I found if you make a mistake and need to reapply them on the bottom screen, you're in for a world of trouble if you can't get the screen off.

There was recommendation to lift it with tape and it didn't work for me; nothing worked to get my screen off, it was applied *so* tightly once it was on.

I had to pry it off with my fingernail, which bent the protector, creating a permanent and annoying little air bubble in my upper right corner. This is of course my fault for causing damage but, why so hard to lift Hori?

These things aren't perfect, but they're a fine investment. The standard nintendo DS screen protectors I had before this lasted a year with no problems, they just got scratched up and I wanted new ones. I suppose I got my money's worth.

The protector for the touch screen had a lot of air bubbles in it even after reapplying it over and over again. In the end, I had to remove it and trash it. Only the one for the top screen is still on. I can still see some adhesives on the screen protector for the screen on top. I wasn't pleased at all -.-.

Well the bottom screen protector is good
For some reason the top screen protector always had air bubbles in it.And once i got rid of them it put pressure on my screen so i had to remove it.well at least the most important one is on fine.Recommended

Excellent and more importantly EASY.
This protector doesn't need any adhesive because as soon as it touches the screens, it just sticks with no air bubbles. There is some rainbow effect that appears on the edges of the screen protector, but nothing to worry about.

If you only apply one, you will notice the difference in colour, its ever so slight. Plus there is a graininess effect on the touch screen that I can live with.

I wrote this review to tell other users they should have no hesitation to buy these. They are easy to apply, perhaps idiot proof, since both side of the protector are sealed. When applying you take the bottom seal off, and simply apply. If you get it wrong, simply take off and apply again.

I found that you should ensure that it is applied from left to right. If the left hand side fits perfectly, let go of the protector, and it will fall and adhere to the screen by itself. Any air pockets can just be pushed to the edges of the protector. Then just take off the top seal on the protector. EASY

The screen protectors are great! They were easy for me to apply since I've had experience putting on screen protectors, but these protectors are the best!

Looks and feels good
Applied two sets so far, one for a friend and another for myself and they do look good! We both have an old DS, the touch screen protector is just a bit smaller than the screen so there's a tiny gap. The top screen protector is significantly smaller than the glass, decorative black border included, but if you centre it to protect the display then it will do the job well.

They're easy enough to apply, and as mentioned many times if you get dust stuck to it, tape does a good job of cleaning it and a reasonable job of removing the protector if you want to try again and already removed the top sheet. They're also very thin and flexible compared to some protectors I've tried, it leaves no sticky residue behind and no rainbow effect.

What surprised me more is the touch screen feeling like I've just opened a brand new DS! Even with the many scratches and buff marks I've made on mine, you can't see them or feel them.

I'm not sure if it's just my eyes, the room or because it's an older DS, but the brightness appears to be diminished a tad and the touch screen quality looks slightly grainy, but you'll only notice this if you stare at your screen and scrutinise it. Get playing and it's hardly there.

In all, a good buy, great protective quality and will definately extend the life span of your DS screens. Thank you Play-Asia and Hori!

Damn fine.
At the risk of sounding like a total weeaboo (well, this is Play-Asia after all), this totaly owns all of the crap on the market. The other screen protectors I bought were nigh-impossible to keep air-free, peeled at the corners and scratched up badly, but this one seems fine.

It was a bit tricky to get all the air bubbles out, I used a card to smooth them out. The screen protectors and the one for the cover of the DS are great- you can peel it off easily with tape to reapply, and if you get dust on the sticky side, you can remove it with tape as well. The ones for the inside, around the buttons are of a different material, thinner and stickier.

Best screen protector!
The protectors are a bit tricky to apply to the screens. You have to be fast and best if your room is well-lit and clean. I used scotch tape to remove all dust particles on the screen before applying. Curve the piece of protector a little upwards and lay it on the screen from left to right. If there is no dust, the protector will lay snugly on the screen without a single bubble. I've used other brands of protectors but nothing comes close to this. I get improved sensitivity from the touch screen too!

TIP
Curve the protector towards you as you apply to avoid bubbles. If you get dust between screen and protector remove and re-apply the peel off tab to lift the dust

These are excellent, especially compared to the other junk being marketed for the same purpose. There is a reason you should only use accessories licensed by Nintendo!!

Since there's no adhesive, they won't get gunk on your screen. No adhensive also means that you can wash the dust off under the faucet if you really mess up when applying them. TIP: I also used scotch tape to get any persistent specks of dust off the filter (this kind of tape is gentle enough -- don't use something crazy like duct tape). Application isn't very hard, but you do have to be pretty quick because dust has a way of finding the filters. All in all, a great product!

what a professional thing!
this thing is great! it arrives one week after I had my ds, there were already some scratches on my touch screen. when I put it on, I cannot find the scratches anymore!

I cannot believe how GREAT this product was. When i purchased it and read the comments i wasn't hoping for anything to fantastic. But when i put it on you could tell the difference straight away. Yeah the touch screen filter is a little bit too small (but was still a better fit than my older one) but there was none of that rainbow effect. Everything looked smoother and the sensitivity of the touch screen was amazing, it's been a while since it's been like that. If you buy ANY screen protector make sure it's this one. Although the one thing i thought they should've included was a smoother card so that you could get air bubbles out of. I guess you could use an ATM card but i was too scared it might be a little rough..
Overall a GREAT product and a VERY happy customer! BTW it was VERY speedy delivery!

Awesome! I thought putting this one was a nightmare but it turned out easy and i had no lint or air bubbles at all! The microfibre cloth that comes with it is also really high quality.

So much better than the ones you get in shops
Much easier to apply than others, thanks to the automatic peel-off backing. Looks a lot more flush against the screen, and so far hasn't developed scratches which other brands did. Doesn't make any difference to the way the game looks, highly recommended if you're worried about scratches.

There are no other protectors better than these.
It doesn't leave your screen sticky, because it doesn't have an adhevise. It looks crystal clear, as if they aren't there. And they are pretty simple to place on the screens.

great but overrated
I own both Hori protector and the taku screen guard. What this protector(for the bottom screen) is that it is not entirely scratch resistant(lots of scratches after half year of use and decrease visibilty as a result) and it does not cover the whole bottom screen exactly(which makes dust trap at the sides of the bottom screen)

I just put them on today because I get them and my Polar White Nintendo DS Lite for Christmas (I also got a Wii!!) and these things are great, it took me a few mins to put them on and I got no air bubbles or dust, my screen was like perfect and dust free because I just took it out of the box. Trust the Hori quality, especially when it comes to screen protectors. They are the best. Got some for my NDS Lite and PSP. With the screen protectors on, the displays of the NDS Lite and PSP clear and bright, not to mention now they are protected from scratches.

Great screen protector, Hori does it again!
Once again, Hori does it again with a great screen protector. I use their screen protector for PSP as well. As someone stated before, Red goes on top, white goes on bottom. Or in other words, the one with the bigger "backing" is the bottom. The one with two tabs is the one on top. What I recommend is doing this in a steamed room so theres less dust. What I did was lock myself in the bathroom and turn on the shower at hot. I also highly recommend an extended stylus and the DS multi pouch :)

No scratches yet, but my only concern is the bottom screen. It is a tad bit too small therefore leaving a tiny gap. Otherwise this is an excellent product.

If you ask on any game forum, you'll get a million people telling you that you need to get a DS Lite screen protector. And they're right; this is really an essential purchase to go along with your new system. I'm not sure if the Hori ones are really that much better than others or if people are just being snobby, but I can tell you that Hori does make very good products and you won't regret buying this.

[THE RED TAB ONE GOES ON THE TOP SCREEN, THE WHITE TAB ONE GOES ON THE BOTTOM! YES, IT MATTERS.]

To apply them, you'll need to follow the directions they come with. However, since most of you probably can't read Japanese, I'll summarize. First, you need to clean the screens very well with a micro-fiber cloth (included with this set). Hold your DS Lite up to a lamp at an angle and make sure that it is free of dust and smudges. Once that's done, take the filters and (with the red/white tab on the bottom right of the screen) carefully peel back the thin layer of plastic on the back. Then, holding on to the edges, place the adhesive side down starting on the left and working slowly towards the right while watching out for air bubbles. If you're careful, you can peel back and reapply it if you run into trouble along the way. Once you're done, pull on the tab and it will come off, leaving the thin screen protector attached to the screen. You can also smooth out any air bubbles by working them over to the edges with the stylus.

In conclusion, it's like brain surgery getting these on without any air bubbles or dust, but if you're careful and do it right the results are very nice. There's no difference in feel when playing with these on and the screen isn't any less responsive. You won't really know it's there. This way, you can play games like Ouendan or Elite Beat Agents all you want without having the worry about hurting your precious DS Lite. If you ever need to take them off, a piece of tape works quite well.

As always...
Hori makes the best, these rock, are easily removable (no sticky mess!) and work really well. Buy them!

Tried Mad Catz First Now I'll Never Go Back
These are the BEST. I got a white ds for my birthday. Before I used it I applied Mad Catz screen protectors as I've heard the Pelican ones can give you trouble. For awhile I thought my ds was crap (it turns out it was but that's another story) because of the poor response of the touch screen. Then due to a manufacturing defect I returned my white ds and bought a black one (better contrast between the dark black plastic and the bright screen. Makes the screen appear brighter). Before I even opened the box I hunted down and ordered what seemed to be the best screen protectors. When they arrived I did the whole run a hot shower to get rid of dust in the air. Used a paper bag under the unit to prevent static charge (my idea) and cracked open my new ds. Then I followed several peoples directions and attached the bottom screen protector with ease! NO that's NO dust and only one easily removed bubble. It almost installed itself. I only used the bottom protector because although I'm anal about protection for my ds I noticed there is a slight loss of brightness when using any screen protector. Besides other than wiping off dust I won't be touching the top screen. So I have a backup protector if I need it.

So that's it.

Buy them so you won't cry over scratched screens.
Read everyones instructions for installing.
TAKE YOUR TIME to rush is to screw up.
Then enjoy!!

solutions to trapped dust
There is a good chance that dust particles will fly into your screen when you are applying this product on, which will lead to formations of bubbles.
Don't panic and don't throw away the screen protectors just yet.
You first use magic tape and peel off a corner of the applied protectors, eventually, you'll lift up the protector. Most likely the dust will be sticking to the protector adhesive side making wiping it away impossible, NOW use another piece of magic tape and carefully lift some of that dust off of the protector (adhesive-to-adhesive). Do that until there is no more dust on the adhesive side, then carry on reapplying the protector! :)

Buy hori cleaning cloth to get a perfect aplication
Thats the secret i got a perfect aplication in 5 minutes thanks to the cleaning cloth of hori i bought in the same order, it is cheap and will make very easy the aplication just do this

go to a room where you can seat confortabily and where you can open two oposite windows or doors so you create a wind flux that will throw out most dust particles in the air

place both protectors on their respective screens, red tabbed up, smaller white tabbed down, just to figure the exact position as they are not the same size of the screen, they are like half a milimeter smaller on each side.

take hori cleaning cloth clean until there is no dust particles, not even one, take your time and shake frequently the cloth to remove dust from cloth.

when you feel your screen looks perfectly clean take a protector preferabily place first the upper one because if not perfectly aligned it still looks fine unlike the down screen smaller one. Put the protector downwards with the red tab facing you and peel the opposite layer to leave the sticky layer free. DO NOT TURN THE PROTECTOR UPWARDS ONCE YOU HAVE PEELED OFF DOWN COVERING IF YOU DO THAT THE STICKY FACE WILL BE FACING UPWAARDS AND ANY DUST LANDING ON IT WILL GET STUCK. Without turning it upwards take it to the clean screen and align one of the sides.

Aplying the protector is easy just take hori cloth and when you have one side placed and aligned push very slowly with the cloth from that side to the other without leaving any bubble. if you pull awway a bit you can take the protector off if needed.

One in place use the cloth to push all the screen so you give it the final touch, then remove the upper colored tabbed protector and you have completed the task.

Repeat with the othe protector

Better than nothing, but not as good as the Soft Protective Seal
I won't write the full review here, but I bought 2 of each the Hori screen protector and the Soft Protective seal, and everything is BETTER on the SPS. Read my review under the soft protective seal screen protector to see why.

The SPS's are also slightly cheaper as well, which is always a bonus.

Good screen protectors
You must be patient to put them on, without bubbles or dust, but once it's set it's perfect ! The screen protectors doesn't scratch, unlike other ones like Big Ben's, and the colors are unchanged. Now I dare letting my little godson play the DS lite :p
My only concern is that they are a little bit too small, there is some little space left uncovered on my bottom screen. Still they're the only screen protectors I advise to my friends.

I was a bit skeptical about how these screen protectors would go, both in application and in use. But I have to say, they're BRILLIANT. The thin film actually ADDS clarity and vibrance to the picture. Application was a breeze, once I found the instructions in english. Most of it was very obvious anyway, apart from this one tip:

THE WHITE-TABBED FILTER GOES ON THE TOUCH-SCREEN. The red-tabbed filter goes on the top screen.

!!!HORI SCREEN PROTECTORS ARE THE ONLY CHOICE!!!
This manufacturer is the best company to produce extras for the GAMEBOY ADVANCE, DS, DS LITE & PSP. I know because i've previously purchased extras for all of my handhelds. I generally buy Officially Licensed peripherals, except for Datel who i used to purchase extra batteries & they're wireless tongle for my PSP, they're also a good company.
As Hori products are officially licensed by nintendo they must be top notch... and trust me they are!
As long as you apply their screen protectors with great care, attention & take your time to first make sure your screen(s) is/are free of foreign bodies you shouldn't have any trouble.
Just remember to use commen sense & they should apply themselves fairly easily aslong as you rub the top surface of the screen protector with a lint free cleaning cloth as the screen protector comes in to contact with the screen to eliminate the trouble of trapping any air bubbles in the process!... Even if you do though, you can gently rub them from beneath the surface as the contact solution is pretty forgiving allowing you the time to manouvre it even after it's been applied & slightly reposition it.
Trust me none of the other screen protectors allow you to do this... I KNOW! Plus they're made of a silicone based material & not the nasty hard plastic that most are made from!
I'm not saying that this is an easy job for everyone to do but if you take your time to follow the steps above things should hopefully work out fine!
P.S. There was another protective layer on the top of all my screen protectors anyway, so i didn't have to worry about scratching the top surface whilst i was rubbing the any small air bubbles out whilst applying them!

...Difficult...
I just got my screen protector yesterday and I tried putting it on today but...No luck...As soon as i took the tab off dust particles flew on to the sticky part. Wiping it with my finger left a mark, wiping it with a wet cloth didn't help and scratched it a little...so then I tried washing it. The washing had appeared to work but it couldn't really get rid of the million little circles(bubbles) that had previously been there and I didn't want to scratch it by scrubbing...After washing it I couldn't dry it without getting more lint from cloth or kleenix on it so I pretty much let it air-dry. After I put the top screen protector on(after like 30 minutes) I couldn't get the bottom one on any easier...so I ended up taking both protectors off...I want to throw them away but my father gave them to me for my birthday...:(

The best I have tried.
I haven't tried too many screen protectors but I like this one. The only problem I have ever had with these is the tiny clumps that get under it. I'm not sure if these clumps are the adheasive or just dust (I don't think they are dust) but they are annoying. You can however get them off without to much hastle. These protectors are very durable and for the price they are well worth it!

About the residue
I recently took my protectors off since they'd become quite f***ed up, and noticed a tiny bit of residue that was stuck left on the screen.

Now, some people appearently had problems with this "horrible" and "problematic" residue. I did not.

Som things you might need:

- A little water in a glass etc.

- Q-tips

- A microfiber clout

- Cotton dots

- Sticky-remover (basically for removing residue after plaster, stickers etc. but it works just fine for this too)


Figure out how to use the equipment, and this isn't really the big problem that someone makes it look like.

This stuff is great but takes some time to put on. For those the red one is the top screen and the whit e one whis the bottom screen. HOw do i know this? Because in the manual the one with red tab has the chinese word for up and the white one has the chiense word for down.

Very good protection, but be careful
As you all probably know already, these things are not easy to put on at all.

Don't just slap them down onto your DS Lite and expect them to be perfect the first try. You'll definetly need an air duster, there's no question to this. Also, the application could take up to 20 minutes or more if you want them to be perfect. Be very careful with them and have paitence. I also suggest having a razor around so that you can peel a screen protector off if you need to during application (be EXTREMELY CAREFUL with a razor, you risk hurting yourself, or worse, your DS Lite)

Once the protectors are on, you probably won't even notice them. This is a good thing. Hori makes the best protectors, no question

Looks great, installation a bit tough
I got mine on, one tiny piece of dust on the top one. I did mess it up the first time, but washing it with tap water and then drying it on a cotton t-shirt cleaned it off and didn't damage it in any way.

I've seen conflicting posts on which one goes on top (I removed the tabs, so colors don't help).

I put the smaller (and it's thicker too, right?) one on the bottom screen.

Is that definitely correct?

Also, seen people say that the side that has a little "stick" to it goes up, but there's no way that's the case, as far as I can tell. One side is totally slick and the other has a little stick to it and I have stick side down.

What screen protector?
Simply amazing. It is like I did not apply anything at all to my DS lite. Sensitivity did not got down. I did get a little lint under when applying, but nothing that a little tape couldn't handle! Now I just need to wait until they get the psp one in.

Kick Arse!
Best screen protectors I've ever used. Problem was that I accidentally dropped one and it got dog hairs on it, but with some tape and patience it easily all came off.
Also the instructions are in japanese, so if you're desperate you can use the internet to translate it, otherwise, there really isn't a need to. It just takes a little common sense.

Easy to apply and very protective.
Although these are for the DS Lite, I was able to put them to use on my regular DS. The instructions were in Japanese, but after some online research I was able to find instructions and tips to applying them. I got them on almost perfectly with no dust and minimal air bubbles that easily went away with the slide of a card. Highly reccomended, especially for Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan players.

Liquid Crystal Filter DS Lite
Well I live in Japan and sometimes it is hard to find reviews of products here before you buy them. However after reading the reviews on Play Asia. I went out and bought this screen protector. It went on super easy and I didn't get any dust under it. Looks crystal clear and the touch screen sensitivity is the same as it was without the screen protector. Great product

Easy to apply
These protectors are very easy to apply, and after reading some of the previous reviews that gave some tips on how to do it (since we sort of lack any instructions with those), it was a fast and easy.
Simply test out the protectors first (to have an idea of how they will fit as they are not 100% flush), clean your screens with the cloth provided, remove the transparent tabbed layer, apply slowly but surely (pull back a little if you got a bubble, it will pull right off, no mess and no damage to the protector), then removed the colored tabbed layer. Voilà!

Just remember: red on the top screen, white on the touch screen (think of the Hori logo on the package).

These things are like made of glass, they go on so amazing well. It's nothing I have ever seen before. It's literally a thin sheet of glass, that just goes on. No need to press, it vanishes before your eyes. You cannot tell it's on. Very well made, no residue, sticky mess.

Fair warning
You get one, and only one, try to get this thing on right. If even one dust particle is flying in the air when you apply it it is ruined. Just throw it away.

Read up before applying
I suggest checking out some of links below before applying the screen protector so that you know what you are doing beforehand. I was careful and followed the instructions and I did not have any problems applying it and did not end up with any air bubbles. (P.S. The red tabbed protector goes on the top screen and the white one goes on the bottom)

Serious pro stuff
I don't know what the person under did wrong, because the screen-protectors i bought was the best investation i have ever done to my DS Lite.

They are really easy to apply to the screens, but they doesn't cover the hole screen. Therefore you shouldn'nt slide them to one of the edges and rub it onto the screen.

When you apply them, be sure that the screen is free of any dust particles. If you do sp, everything should go without problems.

The brightness of the screen isn't reduced one bit, but the friction on the touch-screen is slightly increased. But i got used to it after a minute or so, so it shouldn't be a problem, nor a handicap for this product.

This product is realy great, and totally deserves a five star rating.

These are soo much better than the ones you get in American stores. I'll never buy American screen protectors again! I had a bit of a tough time but once it's on, it works great! The great thing about this is that you can readjust it by using tape to lift it back up if you mess up. You can also use tape to remove the dust as well. I was able to put it on w/o any dust or bubbles.

Ah well... residue
While they are formidably clean and everything... those things really leave some residue. And I had to polish quite some time to get it off after I tried it out.
In the end I didn't use them... the residue cleaning was tedious and I don't wanna have to do that again for the whole screen at a time.

Great, look great, feel great and generally great. now i can play my games without the worry of scrathing my screen.

These screen protectors are the best I've had the pleasure of putting on a console. The top one is nothing short of invisible, and the touch screen one is almost as invisible. The traction they added to the touch protector really does make a difference, and it is really scratch resistant.

What people have been saying about white residue is true. However, I just put on a little tap water, dried it off, and then polished it off with an eye glass cloth and it was just fine again. It's not a problem at all if you don't mess up, but if you do it can take a while to get off.

I actually bought the US version from Fry's. The instructions are in full English so i had no problem applying these protectors. They look and work like I expected them to be. I haven't tried to peel 'em off so i can't comment on the residue issue. If you are having troubles with Japanese instructions, get the US release.

Just as expected
Not ground breaking product but it works just as expected. I find the protectors a tad smaller than the actual screens and kinda wished they would fit perfectly. like all protectors, remember to apply it carefully!

High-Quality, but Keep an Air Duster handy.
The make-or break it moment of screen protectors are the application. No matter how great they are, if you both putting them on then all is lost.

This might help:

1. Wipe your DS screen with a wet (soft) cloth, then wipe it dry with another. An old (but clean) t-shirt works well for this.

2. Lay (DO NOT APPLY) the screen protectors over your DS. You're doing this to preassess how they will fit on the screen, so you have a good idea of how to apply them. Red goes on top (it has the round tab on the back) and white goes on bottom. If you're nervous about applying them for real, 'practice' a few times here.

3. Use an Air-Duster (get one at any computer supply store) and blast the screens free of absolutely ANY dust that you see. A dust-free screen will save you much frustration later.

4. APPLY THE SCREEN PROTECTORS. Look at the pictures on the packaging for a guide. Each protector is sandwiched between two pieces of thin plastic. Take off the bottom ONLY. Be very careful not to touch the bottom with your hands. Now, place them. Start from the upper left hand corner. Don't force them on, let them lay. This is kind of a Zen experience. They will slowly adhere into place. This is where the quality of the hori shines, they almost do the work for you and leave hardly any air bubbles..

ATTEMPT TO GET THEM ON IN THE FIRST TRY. This is possible with good planning. Life is just easier this way.

5. Use the cloth that came with the kit to press down on any little air bubbles that might remain.

The quality of the protectors are great. They are cut a few cm's smaller than the actual screens and have nearly a perfect fit. There is a little more friction on the touch screen than without the protector, but you adapt to it quickly. As long as you prepare correctly, these go on with little fuss.

Residue on protector and screen.
I applied the protector for the touch screen following the directions both here and on various other sites. The protector with the white tab and oversized plastic backing was to be applied to the touch screen. The side applied to the oversized backing was to be applied to the screen itself.

Unfortunately, it did have residue on it, and that residue was applied to my DS Lite screen. I was able to clean most of the residue off my DS with the exception of the corners, but the protector has the residue on there pretty good.

As I was packing it all back together, I noticed the residue was also on the oversized plastic backing.

Best protectors
I bought the Gamestop protectors and applied right when I got my DS lite and it made the touch screen unfunctional. I thought I had a bad system. However I took those horrible protectors off and it worked fine. Ordered these from play-asia and received them very fast! I knew how to apply them because I bought the exact same kind for my DS from EB games a while back. Instructions are in Japanese but if you know how to apply them they are the best out there. Applied, worked out the air bubbles, and I am EXTREMELY pleased with the final results.

I managed to apply the top screen one, no air bubbles no dust cleaned the touch screen, put the protector on and a few flecks of dust. Took it off to try again, fingergunk got stuck to the bottom of it. I'm going to attempt to wash it to see if that works.

So in conclusion top screen went on perfectly and looks great. Bottom screen I funked up with so its looks bad. So make sure you are as dust free as possible and don't touch the underside of the damn thing!

Alright, unless you have high standards.
To apply this with ease, you really need to make sure you're in a room that is 100% dust free... which is impossible of course, unless you assemble microprocessors for a living. If there is even a little bit of dust in the air, the sticky surface plus the light static charge of the plastic means some flecks of dust WILL get on the protector. When you put it on, you'll be able to see those dust specks creating tiny bubbles of air that you can't rub out with the cloth. It still looks very good when bright colors are on the screen, but when the colors are dark or the unit is off... blech. You can of course remove it and try again, but the next attempt will just put even more dust on the protector.

Yes, removing the filter DOES leave a very light residue, but it's nothing that a good spit-shine with a microfiber cloth can't fix. Not a screen-ruiner by any means.

If you want this screen protector to look perfect when applied, don't buy this. If you don't care about that, buy away.

One thing...
Okay there is no sticky residue on my screen, i re-applied it about 6 or 7 times to get it just right and i'm happy, so maybe the guy below got a different product.. hmm i dunno... mine is just as good as my original DS one, except for ONE thing..

The bottom filter (touch screen) seems to have a more 'vinyl' type of feel to it, so the harder you push with your stylus, the slighty more friction you get.. I dont want to say it feels sticky, it just seems to have a tiny bit of friction over the original ds's smooth glass-like filter.. Its a minor effect that some people may not even notice.. thats the only con i've found so far.

Residue Complaints = Upside-Down Installation
Unfortunately, I goofed up the initial installation, but I had no problems taking it off. I read on another forum that the real problem some people are having with these protectors is that there IS adhesive on the protectors, but it is on the side that is supposed to be facing up.

For the top piece, there are protective pieces of plastic on both sides. The pull-off with the round flap is supposed to be the side facing the screen. That pull-off is secured to the protector by static. The other pull-off is secured to the protector by adhesive, as the top would have no static cling. If you accidently apply this side to the screen, there may be some residual adhesive left that you'd have to clean off if you attempt to remove it.

The same goes for the touchscreen protector, except that it is side with the larger plastic piece in which the protector is mounted that goes against the screen.

Basically, remember not to install it upside down.

Like the guy below said, Just try taking it off, you will see the oil smudge that extremely hard to get rid.

Yeah, it's not visible when screen protector is applied but when you peel it off, you feel the pain.

And when it get dirty (e.g. accidently drop the Touchpad Filter on the floor) it's very hard to clean cause there is some Oil underneat the touchscreen filter and dirt get struck.

Except this, it's good product interm on image clearity and touchscreen sensitivity.

If you want to get this, Please consider this con seriously.

And this product IS DIFFERRENT than DS version, if you impress the quality of DS one, Please don't conclude that is product will be as good.

These guys do NOT leave sticky residue, he must have been applying the protectors that come on that shields (to protect them in the package)... These continue hori's wonderful line of protectors (i have ds and psp and ds lite from hori, all fabulous).. Now if they could come out with some slightly improved cases that would be great (the multi pouch is a bit bulky)..

When applying these, try to just let one side catch on where you want it to be, then just hold the opposite edge and let it slowly fall down on its own, dont force it, and just keep trying, but let it apply its self, its the best way :)

Hori makes the best screen protector. I use one on my PSP and the DS lite screen protector is just as good. It takes a little time to figure out which piece goes on the DS lites screen but you'll figure it out. Just dont touch the protector itself as you'll leave finger prints.

i order this for my ds lite, and i must say, it's very impressive. even though, instructions are in japanese, since there are pictures, it's very straight forward.

applying was a bit long process due to dust and bubbles. you can reapply as much as you want, so just peel little bit take off the dust and bubbles.
i felt that i only need only at touch pad. didn't really need for the top screen.

Really good, just be careful!
I own a Nintendo DS Lite and this product is really good. They are almost invisible and doesn't affect with the touch sensibility. Just be careful at the time to apply them, the protector for the touch screen is a little smaller than the screen itself (about 2 millimeters). Try to stick it as centered as possible. I also recommend using an Air Duster Bottle to blow away all dust particles from both screens after cleaning them with the small cloth included in the product.

try taking them off and have fun spending 45 minutes cleaning the goo they leave. the hori's I had for my regular ds didnt leave any residue but these are terrible.

Changed the mind of this doubter
I was skeptical about screen protectors. Even more so when I picked up some cheap, rebraned Pelican protectors; They were utterly garbage. When I applied them, the touchscreen display was fuzzy and had a very distracting rainbow effect across the screen. I peeled them off and dismissed the idea of screen protectors altogether.

However, when my screen started to get a few scratches, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and buy a pair of the Hori protectors that I had heard so much about. Wow, what a difference. These protectors are very nearly invisible, to the point where I didn't even realize I had properly applied the top screen protector until it had been on for almost an hour. Until that point, I thought I had accidentally yanked it off.

Which is my only complaint: The documentation for these is lacking, so you basically have to guess what you're doing.

That aside, they offer fantastic protection for your DS while not interfering with image clarity or touch screen sensitivity at all, and there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't spend the $6 on what is essentially cheap insurance for your handheld system.

If you own a DS, then you need this!
At only $6.99 US, this is an essential accessory for your DS or DS Lite. Application took me quite a bit of time, but once applied, it looks and feels great. I've used other screen protectors, and this is by far the best. Do yourself a favor, increase the life-span of your DS and buy this.

All hori products are amazing, especially thier screen guards. They really put effort into thier design and it shows in this product. The top screen cover is thicker and reduces glare. The touch pad screen cover is thinner so the DS lite still responds to even the lightest of touches, and eventhough the bottom cover is thinner it still protects the touch pad from scratches and trail marks from the stylus.

Don't bother with the competition. Get Hori.
