Ryu is back
Forget Devil May Cry, the best beat them all is Ninja Gaiden II.
The graphism are not transcendent but correct also there are little jerk.
But the gameplay is pleasurable. You hack, you cut, you slash, you decapitate.
The game is less difficult than the first episod on Xbox but not recommanded for casual gamer.
But if you want blood and sliced head, this game is for you.

Didn't like.
I absolutely adored the first ninja gaiden and I still consider it to be one the greatest console games ever. In my opinion they srewed up the sequel. The changes made to the game mechanics took all the fun away.

Great game
This game is so great. Fast moves, nice combos, and decent story. Sometimes it is hard but it doesn't stop you from playing.

Great gameplay, weird background
Absolutely perfect battle gameplay, fast, precise, we can feel the hours of working behind. But the background, the characters, and the artistical direction are very weird, in bad taste if I may.

NG2 is a very fun game, but it can be extremely difficult and frustrating. It also has a silly story and the odd camera and frame rate issues but they aren't terrible. The action is the heart of Ninja Gaiden II and it is absolutely top notch. The combos, tonnes of weapons and nimpo magic attacks give it a tonne of variety. The visuals are great and the stylish violence and the over the top gore make it a very enjoyable experience.

Amazing Ninja Game
There are a lot of combos, weapons you can use throughout the game. A lot of fun if you familiar with that. Let's try this great one if you haven't bought it.

The true successor to Ninja Gaiden
This version worked perfectly on my pal console. The game has great graphics and runs smoothly. The gore and dismemberment looks great and contributes to the slightly campy atmosphere plus it indicates the enemy's condition. Some of the bosses are a bit lame(like the level 3 one) but the levels make up for it. The challenge is high(at least on the second difficulty setting) and it is very satisfying to be successful in the game.
The designers made enough changes to the game to still make it appealing to those who own the original and the main differences are the higher difficulty and life regenerating to a certain point(which becomes less depending on how much damage you take).

NG2 has no equal when it's at its best
Ninja Gaiden was easily still one of the best, if not the best action game I've ever played on any system.
Ninja Gaiden 2 offers up more of the same stylish, 60fps slick action you would expect from the series and also doesn't fail to take the action and graphics up a notch.
This time round, combos are faster, more brutal (wait until you see some of the obliteration techniques in action) and enemies run aplenty. There'll hardly be a moment to breath in most stages.
However, be warned, this game is HARD. If you've played games like DMC3 and found that challenging, this game makes that one look easy. The difficulty here has its pros and cons. I definitely get a sense of satisfaction when I've bested a particularly tough section but its extremely frustrating at some points of the game when the game just begins to border on being cheap to be difficult.

As a whole, I would highly recommend NG2 to any action game fan who's up to the challenge (seriously, you even get an achievement for continuing a certain number of times after dying). If you can forgive and make it past those irritatingly cheap sections mid-game, the overall package gives you the most satisfying action game to date. There is no equal in my collection.

Feeling blodthirsty
A very quick paced game. Filled with action and a lot of fun. Different weapons and combos add variety to gameplay. Bad points: weak story, sometimes the difficulty is too hard (especially in the easiest mode.), and the camera can be a problem. If your into blood and gore and fast action this game is for you.

Ninja Gaiden 2
There is blood on the dance floor and dismembered limbs aplenty. As master ninja Ryu Hayabusa that's what you do all day in Ninja Gaiden 2 - execute your dances of death as you cut rival ninjas and demons down to size (quite literally) and hack off their hands, legs and heads. There's so much of violence and blood that it could easily pass off as Kill Bill 3 with extra gore. Despite a huge array of weapons and slick combo moves at your disposal, the going is extremely tough. The bosses are hard to beat and it takes a lot of thinking and trial and error to figure out a way to beat the end-of-chapter bosses. For the record, I am still stuck with the Chapter 3 boss, a giant flying machine which looks like an armoured Medusa with a snake-like body. She throws lightning bolts and sends tons of exploding snakes at you, which you cannot dodge or block. And if she gets close enough, she grabs you with her mouth and smashes you against the rocks. The game starts off in the skyscrapers of Tokyo where a buxom CIA agent called Sonia warns you about the Archfiend. The next thing you know, evil black spider ninjas are upon you. They abduct Sonia. You chase and end Chapter One killing an enemy ninja that looks like a monstrous black spider. You manage to save Sonia only to realise that this was all a distraction. The baddies are really after a sacred artifact called the Demon Statue that can unleash demons. This takes you to the next chapter. You rush home to defend your village and your honour. It ends with the baddies successfully unleashing a horde of demons from the top of Mount Fuji, which is destroyed in a huge explosion. By the end of the second chapter, you will have three weapons - your trusty Dragon Sword, a twirling pole called the Lunar Rod which works great for crowd control and the Phoenix Claws, a pair of claws which let you slash through enemies in quick succession. You also have ranged weapons, including normal and explosive shurikens (literally, sword hidden in the hand) and a bow and arrows.

As you kill enemies, they drop yellow orbs which you can use to buy herbs or upgrade your weapons. Combat is pretty much a case of executing combos at the right time as well as blocking and counter-attacking. Some cool moves with the Sword include the Otoshi drop where you slash the enemy in the air three times before grabbing his head and pile-driving him into the ground - the trademark move of Ryu in other games as well. Button mashing X and Y combos look cool but they won't work in a major fight where there are a dozen ninjas after you. That's because as you cut one enemy down, three more are slashing at you. You need to fight smart and the first rule is to block. Blocking and waiting for an opening to counter-attack is a good strategy. I played this game without a manual and I am happy to say it was easy to learn the moves. Scrolls found in treasure boxes and among your dead enemies will highlight the moves that you need to learn. One example: Pull the left trigger to block and push the left thumbstick at the same time to dodge. You also need to learn how to get to inaccessible places. For example, if you are between two walls that are close together, you can flip your way from wall to wall all the way to the top. You also have access to "ninpo" magic which unleashes fireballs and blades of wind at the enemy. The graphics in this game are simply stunning and detailed. I found it hard to put the controller down once I got started. The level of gore, however, is certainly unsuitable for the young and I had to lock myself in the study, away from the neighbour's kids, to play this game on the PC. Overall, this is an excellent game which will undoubtedly make it to the list of Top 10 games for 2008.

The final Ninja Gaiden game of Itagaki.
The game is not as good as the first one but it's still the best action game on Xbox 360. I only hate framerate issues.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is great
If you have Ninja Gaiden and you loved it, buy this, NOW. Do you need a review to convince you about this game? Great action game only downed a bit with the clunky camera but the gameplay more than makes up for it. Subleme game.

Ninja Gaiden ROCKS!
If you enjoyed the 1st installment of Ninja Gaiden on the XBOX, don't hesitate and pick this up ASAP. If you haven't played the 1st on XBOX and you're not sure about it, still pick it up, unless you're afraid of difficult games.... but even then there is an easy mode, if you're a girly man.

BEST NINJA GAIDEN EVER!
I just beat the game and it had everything I wanted in it and that is why this is so sad... Now that Itagaki is leaving Team Ninja and Tecmo, it just makes me feel even more sad to know that we will never get a game like this ever again from this team... There is just something about his games that feels so right. Get this game now, this is one of the best games of the year for sure.
