Huge landscapes for you to explore with varied missions. A must play before jumping into Far Cry 3.
Loves the Far Cry franchise. Lots of improvement with updated graphics and gameplay with this game. Very challenging. Get this game to complete your collection.
This is a game that should be in your possession.
Graphics have aged, but nice gameplay, good storyline and very long lifetime !
Sometimes a bit long and boring, especially when you have to cross the huge landscapes on foot or by car while looking constantly at your mini-map.
Fortunately, the missions are many and very varied, they offer a lot of challenge and action.
Many side quests significantly extend the length of the game ..
Many hours of gameplay await you !
one of the best game in 2008. cool game, great game play, good story. you must try this game now.
This game is awesome!! Game play is amazing . I love this game really worth to buy.
I enjoyed playing FarCry 2 very much! Great gameplay, arsenal of weapons to choose from, and the story is very well laid out. If I may say so, the plot settled in the backdrop very nicely. Huge world to explore with NPCs to interact with and plenty of decisions to be made. Even on the XBOX360, it looked great and handled nicely.
My only problem was the no quick-travelling option and re-spawn of enemies at checkpoints. No real diversity in enemies encountered as well...just plain militia or plain militia with more fancy assault rifles...
Overall; the game was great fun with plenty of hours to add value to a single play-through.
When I played Far Cry 1. I was so hooked on the fact that it was a shooter and you were going around the island and there was partial open world freedom from back tracking and the strategy in killing your opponents. I was so interested when I heard that Far Cry 2 came out along with it's near realistic situations where guns Jam on you and vehicles need constant repair and healing yourself is taking a bullet out of your body when your in critical condition.
The game covers 60 kilometers of open world free roam and you ride a variety of vehicles and multiple choices of weaponry along with a diamond currency that you use a tracker to find.
The only sucky thing you will immediately notice is the rapid conversations the NPC's do when talking. It feels like the developers just sped up the voice overs just so they could cram it inside the game. And sometimes the animation of the enemies are dull and AI is bad. Overall, this game is a good if your one of those guys who love open world FPS and you can jump into it anytime.
on of the best FPS of this generations
In short: there are more fun, more exciting FPS games to play. This game is boring and monotonous. There are no two ways about it. The story is boring. The game play is shallow and stays the same the entire game. Yeah it offers you freedom. Let me ask you. Does it sound awesome to get lost in a hot dessert with no water? You have to the FREEDOM go anywhere and do anything. Freedom does NOT equal fun and this game is proof of that.
Despite very boring ideas in the game design the game still manage to give you great time when everything goes as you planed.
The 2 maps are just huge and nearly without a loading screen.
Blow things up is a must and never has been has fun.
Great creation tools BTW.
war in jungle like never before
Far Cry 2 takes the player to Africa, where deserts, oasis, railyard and factories are placed all over for the player to find. FC2 boasts excellent graphics, immersing the player in photorealistic visuals. A large sandbox with plenty of missions round up the improvements for this sequel. A definite winner from Ubisoft.
this game are look like mercenary , any weapons are real action shooting. this graphic are not bad.
it's one of the best fps ever! You must have it!
So frustrating at times that i just put the game down......good graphics, solid gunplay, very bland storyline but the thing that irritates me and you are gonna be doing this more than shooting itself is the driving...........for a "sandbox" game the driving is surprisingly linear and the frustrating respawning of enemies at checkpoints that youre prob gonna have to pass by at least a hundred times is controller smashing....its saving grace is its price tag
Excellent game setting is realisticand amazing graphics. Excellent sound. Spetacular game.
Awesome game, lots of things to do. The weapons are great too. The fact that you can drive makes the game even more interesting.
One of the best first person shooters I've played.
A revolutionary FPS game that is part FPS and part RPG! However, the scope of the game can be so vast that players may be bored playing it.
The game setting is also realistic, Africa with militia, weapons and vehicles that require constant maintenance, diamonds, civil war etc. A couple of technicals and the player will really be in Africa or Blood Diamond
Cool game and very open. If you like open world game where you get to drive, walk, etc for 5mins between missions this is a great game. I like a little more liner game, but I still had fun with this game.
This game gives you an incredible amount of freedom to approach each mission. The graphics and the environment are really good. The story is a little weak, and it may be tedious to drive for long settings, but this game is a must under 25 dollars.
Good game, awsome price and shippment
but some aspects make the game a little bit difficult... like the number of bullet you have to use to kill an enemy.
Basically I like FPS. So that's it! I gave this game a try on having seen the low price Play-asia offered and the game failed to disappoint. I would give it a 3 out of 5 rating.
Challenging, fun and nice to play on weekend.
Great experience of African & great graphics.
Very worth it to try!
A great buy from Play-Asia. Definitely worth it.
Nice and decent graphics and gameplay. Not too hard or easy either. There's this buddy system thingy which opens up a lot of optional and extra missions. By the way, I'm wondering if it's a bug (prob not) but anyways, there is this one female buddy who will save you if you are dying (as in supposed to be game over at that), but after saving ya, she'll keep asking for help and the med injection thingy, and then die =X So yup, be careful and don't waste your chance of revival
This open world shooter is incredible as you're free to choose how you want to develop the story.
There are amazing landscapes in this amazing Africa!!
Incredible amount of freedom to approach each mission. Visually stunning African landscape. A very rewarding game!!!
# Incredible amount of freedom to approach each mission
# 50 square kilometers of visually stunning African landscape
good game..thank play-asia..
Far Cry 2 meets expectations and exceeds the challenge to honor the original beginning from scratch
A great classic open world shooter! An unbeatable bargain from Play Asia!
As far a single player games go this is the best 1st person shooter i have played in a long time. While the gameplay is simple, the realistic tactics that you can employ to solve each situation is truly satisfying. There's hours of side missions here to keep you playing long past any other 1st person shooter ive come come across. It short, this rocks.
I like it.
and for this price tag now
press the botton and order it
FarCry 2: analysis of the game
The game features a scene with gorgeous graphics, excellent quality sound and good gameplay.
Counter, presents scenarios repetitive and very long trips, as well as shots of the traffickers nail the character even when hidden.
I recommend, there are many hours of fun guaranteed.
an interesting take on sandbox games. All aspects, including things like checking your map and other standard gaming norms are turned into aspects of the game. taking out a real map to check your position is just one of these. The map itself is a sight to behold as well, full day and night cycle that can change the tide of gameplay. Unsuccessful at running and gunning a mission in the sunlight? Take a rest and try a stealthy approach at night. This open world game is something that should be experienced by any shooter or sandbox fan
- Intuitive user interface.
- Visually stunning landscape.
- Excellent weapon effects and ambient audio.
- Good reward and upgrade systems.
- Fantastic and effective map editing toolset.
- 30 hours of freedom in gameplay.
- Repetitive quest structure.
- Frame rate issues.
- Character models are bland and generic.
- Voice acting can be further improved.
- Tedious travel for long distances.
Just like in a movie, because in the beginning of the game , the story is so long. But it's a great game
This is a good game to buy. It has large, open areas to explore and often multiple ways to approach your objective/target. A good variety of weapons and an interesting game mechanic where over time and use your guns deteriorate making them less reliable i.e. prone to jamming. The missions are varied and you can work for many different people from warlords and gun runners to journalists and "buddies".
There is a buddy system where if you run into trouble (or as I found out far too often, if trouble runs over you in a jeep) then your best buddy will pull you out of trouble and help you clear the area.
The problem I have with this game is two fold. The problems by themselves are ok but together can get annoying quickly. They are large areas/large distances to cover and respawning enemies. Now I understand having no respawning would leave the game pretty sparse on action but a few minutes after having decimated a vehicle check point seeing it rebuilt and repopulated can be exasperating.
Also the ending comes very suddenly. It builds up for a while and you can feel the tension but then it just finishes.
Worth buying but not without some flaws.
This game is huge!
and with the brilliant price play-asia was giving out ..
such a great deal!
Once i play this game... just can't get enough of it. You wouldn't be disappointed
If you like shooters and you missed some less linear experience than the usual "corridor-following" routine, then "Farcry 2" will be your game.
A gigantic open-world map (set in Africa) and lots of side-quests complete a very satisfying shooter, one more complex and with more freedom than the usual restricting shooters out there.
And of course, graphically it's superb, one of the best looking games of this generation.
it's a tough game to play but i'll admit, it is quite fun as you can open end ways to move on with the story. Great job sending the item over to me so quickly despite the Christmas season!
thank god the game is in english otherwise it would be unplayable as i can't understand a word of korean written in the manual . As for the game my only quetion is why no 3rd person view . Service from playasia as always was great .
Picked it up in the sale and thanks to PlayAsia for an unbeatable price for this awesome game!
If you like realistc shooter games, it's a very good choice, don`t miss it!
The graphics are very beautiful and the scenario is very realistic. You may feel confuse with the large options of controls but certainly you'll adapt very fast.
great and cheap! i recommend it at this price
far cry 2 has an interesting setting, beautiful graphics, a stunning day / night cycle and a huge (really huge) map to explore.
sadly you wont get a lot of different things to do. the missions are mostly the same. go somewhere and blow up stuff or kill person x. the real frustration starts when you clean a checkpoint just to realise, that enemies respawn after you left the location.
still, the ability to unlock weapons, the length of the storymode and the really stunning scenery make this a game worth your money.
A fun shooter when you strip it down to its bare essentials, but some niggling issues prevent it from being truly great.
Missions types do not vary too much and the "malaria" angle can be frustrating at times. However, the game is beautiful and the weapons are also fun to shoot.
Not the best, but pick it up if you feel the need to shoot something.
Game to take your breath with realistic scenarios too.
Buy without doubt.
The scenario is ok, a lot of choices to make during the game. Freedom to walk around.
I played the game on PC before. So,I buy the PS3 version.IT'S really a good game
it is a great game, very enjoyable from the begining to the end, very challenging too, the multiplayer mode its amazing and very funny. Good graphics too. a little repetitive but still very enjoyable. Great crude and realistic physics, sounds and story. Completly recomended. Play-asia 100% trustable for buying games.
A very nice FPS, with stunning African decorations and typical African towns, villages, transport, etc. A bit monotonous, lacks diversity, but has something in the middle, that makes you love it. So much more could be done in it. Still, a must have for an FPS fan!!
I hyped a lot for this game but in the end it's a very average shooter for the masses. It didn't make me in to a fan.
This is the best game for just 35 bocks. really good graphics. really good game play. just really good game!!!!
It will take hours for you to finish this game. This game relly rocks!!!!
A little bit repetitive game, but it's a nice game for a good price. Excellent graphics!!! Play-Asia the best way to buy games!!!!
Story, system and graphics are very good.
But this game crash sometimes.
This is my favouite game of all time. If you have the wanderlust no other game presents such a convincing world in which to inhabit, explore and blow up stuff. I love to travel across the landscape (on foot, in trucks and cars, on boats, gliders, even swimming), to scout out targets and to execute my assaults in this fictional African country. FarCry 2 also has the best Map Editor of any console game. With patience and creativity you can make almost any kind of battle space for use in multiplayer matches. All in all this is a fabulous game.
This is one of those games that makes you go ga-ga within the first 15 minutes. The lush environment is truly immersing and the action never stops!
Hijack an enemy vehicle to run thru checkpoints, set the entire enemy base on fire or just go arms akimbo and shoot the enemy where the sun don't shine.
There's nary a dull moment in Farcry 2 and the price truly completes the deal, get it now! ^^
FarCry2 sure is worth this money. You get an huge open map where you can do a lot of stuff. How about setting some trees on fire and watch what happens to the vegetation.
It also has beautifull weather effects. You just stop and watch the sun go down in the game and then go on with your mission.
The only downside is that it is repetitive from time to time. You keep engaging the same guys at the checkpoints, even if you just cleared it 5 minutes ago.
But it will bring you good value for its money. You can just walk/ride were you want to without doing the missions. Still lot's of fun trying to get on top of a mountain. Or Trying to collect all of the hidden diamonds in the game.
Far Cry 2 is an FPS set in an African setting, with nearly 50 square kms of savanna to explore. The graphics are great and so is the music. Unfortunately this cannot be said about the gameplay and store.
Excellent graphics!!! Mind-blowing in fact!!! The animation, the texture quality, the character model all look AAA material. So is the music and the voice acting. The gunfire has never sounded this good. Surprised to see that the driving is handled with great finesse!!! Thank God for that, else playing the game would be such a hassle. Multiplayer is very good and fun even though the game modes are pretty straight forward with the deathmatch and team deathmatch. The game also comes with a map editor where you can create your own maps and upload them. Also, the single player campaign is very very long. Its almost 30hrs long. Great value for buck.
The gameplay is good, with all the guns sounding great. And it is also a blast to shoot as the guns feel great. The problem in gunplay is that the enemies take large amount damage, so running out of ammo is a frequent worry. So, headshots are essential. Also, another weird feature in the game is that the guns u get from the fallen soldiers damage over time and get jammed, which can get pretty annoying when in middle of a fire fight. Another annoying feature is the re spawning enemies at checkpoints. You kill like a dozen enemies and capture the checkpoint. After a while u discover that the enemies you killed are back, which can get irritating and this is the main reason the game gets repetitive after a while. The saving system is kind of bad as well. The game only saves after missions and in safe houses. This would have been alright if there was a fast travel option in the game. But the fact that you drive for 10 mins to reach your objective and if u r killed in the final minutes of the battle, you will have to drive all the way back to your objective. If only there was an option to skip the driving. Actually there is, u can fast travel using the local bus service, but it is so broken that you would rather drive than end up in a wrong place using the Bus service. Lastly, the STORY!!! Its terrible. There’s this guy Jackal, you need to take him out. That’s pretty much it. No twist in the tale or nothing. Its pretty straight forward.
Very good game for a reduced price and not for full price. A 30hour long campaign with descent multiplayer is surely worth the money. Get this game only if you don’t mind driving for long distances and the repetitive gameplay.
I love this game mostly because of the lovely graphics. Other than that, the map is pretty impressive too. But beware, sometimes it might get frustrating because of the controls and story plot *wink*
I loved Farcry 2. It took a long time to get into it (at least 4 hours) but from then on I really liked it.
It does have inherent problems in the the amount of travel time to any mission is huge.
Also, if you go anywhere nuisance enemies really are just annoying.
When the combat goes right, it goes really right.
I had friend who doesn't really like open world games and he hated this.
Like many open-ended games, Far Cry 2 is one that can be frustrating during the first hour of play but fully rewarding as you delve deeper. You play a hitman sent to a war-torn African country, but end up being a gun-for-hire used by its various factions. The game has some of the most innovative features in a first-person shooter in years. Let's start with the landscape. For the first time, you not only destroy things like crates (yawn) but also set fire to a dry patch of grass to force your enemy into a corner. You can wait until nightfall, when visibility is poor, to strike fear into them with a sniper rifle. Or how about firing a round into an ammo cache and seeing the stray bullets being sprayed in all directions? It is devilish but so much fun. The environment is so dynamic that no single gunfight ends up the same way.
Wind direction counts too. If you throw a fire bomb into the grass, make sure the heat does not spread back towards you. The computer opponents and friendly buddies, who will save you should you be injured, are also pretty smart. When you snipe at the enemy, they will usually take cover behind a building. Braver ones will hop onto a Landrover and gun for you. You just never know what you are going to get next, I ended up looking over my shoulder more often than in any shooter I have played. The weapons are great too. The flare gun gives you a nice bush fire when you shoot it into the grass, while the flame-thrower is the ultimate short-range weapon - just one burst of the flame and everything in its wake gets incinerated. To make things more realistic, weapons jam during fights and the way the characters clears, say, an M16 rifle, is as realistic as the way you would do it when you are in national service. Graphics-wise, I would say Far Cry 2 is excellent, though slightly short of what Crysis offers in terms of dynamic lighting. But then again, Far Cry 2 has a truly interactive environment - you will be spellbound standing there, watching a tree catch fire and being consumed to the last leaf.
I would have given it a 9/10, if not for the fact that some parts of the game are repetitive. Unlike Grand Theft Auto, not much of the story is integrated into Far Cry 2's gameplay. Sometimes you seem to be attacking an endless bunch of guard posts and convoys on the way to a mission. To make things more frustrating, you sometimes do not "unlock" a guard post despite killing everyone there. The other bug is that you die - ostensibly from malaria that you got early in the game - whenever you stray out of some designated area of combat. Strange because it gives lie to the idea that you can freely roam about every place on the map, a la Grand Theft Auto. However, despite these problems, the game still gets you going because of its biggest strength - the dynamic gameplay. No other shooter I have played since Quake, that seminal first-person shooter in the 1990s, have redefined gameplay as much as Far Cry 2 - and that is high praise.
Great graphics, great gameplay, good story. The downside is that the gameplay tends to get repetitive... and I sold the game without completing it (was getting to annoying and boring).
After selecting the main character, instantly one is put in a demonstration of FC2 environmental graphics. The clarity and display instantly blow ones mind. There is one objective to complete: Take Out JACKAL. Though struck with malaria, the character is instantly put into action. With weapons that realistically jam and break, pulling out bullets from a gushing arm, the game makes one think that a new design is coming on into the gaming industry. Though speaking about all the great features that it has. Let's not forget that no game is perfect. The continuous unnecessary fighting scenes begin to take a toll on you after a few hours into the game. It won't mean much to a gamer that is blood thirsty and on a rampage using any weapon he/she can get a hold of. From assault rifles, snipers, pistols to the power of a bazooka. Oh, and lets not forget to sharpen that handy machete to take out an enemy when ur out of bullets. BUY IT!
Excellent collectors edition , totaly worth buying , thanks for the fast shipping & excellent customer support play-asia , excellent game , a solid fps of this gen , worth the wait , optimised very well , works very well even on very high settings if you have a 8600 GT Gpu along with 2 gigs of ram on a dual core CPU , Highly Recommend .
