Works very will with Red Octane Ignition 3.0 dance pads
I have two of these inexpensive adapters and have used them a fair bit with my Red Octane Ignition 3.0 dance pads for DDR Mario Mix (US) and have been very happy with the results. I've read of people having problems with some adapters causing missed steps and such with dance pads, but these seem to work flawlessly, at least ...

works geat
only drawback is that you have to push the R+L Buttons (mapped to R2+L2) pretty hard to simulate the "100%-pressed" of the GC controller. This is only notable if you tend to press these buttons very softly - it seems to be just a case of habit.

The perfect solution for CAPCOM VS SNK 2 on Gamecube
I've tested this adapter on my GC using my regular PS2 controller, Capcom Street Fighter 15th Anniversary controller, and ASCIIWARE PSX pro controller on CvS 2 and with the Game Boy Player. All buttons and d-pads work perfectly without any delay, not too sensative and not too dull.
Highly recommended for those who have a Gamecube but prefer PS2 controllers for the d-pad

Surprisingly, not as good as my
PSX/PS2 universal adapter to XBOX/GC/USB (PS-PXG03, unbranded).
Simply and for the unique reason that L2 and R2, acting as L and R triggers on the Gamecube controller are not pressure sensitive in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Meaning that you can't dim the opacity of your shielding, it's always consuming itself at a 100% rate because those triggers aren't triggers anymore, they are buttons! (in SSBM, I haven't tried to seek for other behaviors of the adapter in different games). On the PC though (with an adapter), the triggers behaves correctly, actuating for many different pressure levels.
My PS-PXG03 can do that, but it is pretty much the only difference between those two.
The one made by Mayflash is pretty good too, know that.
Oh yeah and select on PS2 dualshock is mapped to Z on the GC controller.
