i'm very happy with this, now i can use my psx arcade stick on dreamcast, i've tried MVC2 and CVS2 and it rocks!!

the only con i've found is that the box says it has a 9v input but the item doesn't , not a big matter :)

WOW...just WOW...
...this adapter PWNS! No lag at all and it feels so much more comfortable playing with PlayStation controllers as I've never been a big fan of DC controllers. The VMU slot on the adapter worked just fine as well.

I tested it with a PS1, PS2, and PS2 Saturn controller. They all worked perfectly. I suggest setting the little switch on the side to the middle position when using the PS controllers. I found that setting to work the best.

Note: Actual adapter looks different than in the pic, but still does the job.

I recently got a custom stick with a PSX mod (controller) and it works perfectly. Why find another Dreamcast controller when you can just use a Playstation controller. Works on any PS2 or PSX controller. I have a PS2 Saturn pad that works perfectly with this. I've done my research and it ends at Total Control Plus.

Very good thing which you need if you can't find original Dreamcast controller. Have fun with your favorite PS-joypad!

I wanted to play Street Fighter Alpha 3 with my old Playstation joystick that was sitting around for 2 or 3 years. This works with ps/ps one/ps2 controllers and steering wheels, unmarked switch on the side I don't know what it does,besides that I would recommend it to any dc fan like myself.


PROS- works with almost all Playstation controllers, supports steering wheels too, vmu supported.

CONS- product is perfect I didn't find any thing wrong.

PERFECT!
I bought this to use with Dreamcast and PS2 DDR dance pad. I bought the higher grade dance pad and it works perfectly! VERY COOL. Got the pad and covertor for less than the less durable Dreamcast dance pad (if you can find one).

Flawless
It's works perfectly on my Namco sticks and Street Fighter Anniversary Edition pads thanks to the switch on the side that remaps the buttons. Soul Calibur even detected I had an arcade stick connected and configured the buttons as it should, this thing is just awesome. Recommended.

It works
This worked flawlessly with my Hori Real Arcade Pro 1 Version B (or 2). Shoryukens performed flawlessly and it registered fast button presses flawlessly as well. One tip: read the back of the box before use! Getting the VMU to work took a little trial and error, but eventually it worked.

Very Nice Convertor
I purchased the adaptor to use PSX dance pads with the game "Feet of Fury", response time is critical in dance games and this convertor delivers, there is no lag that I can detect. The VMU slot is nice to have for the few games that only save to the VMU in slot 1. For those confused by the switch the setting closest to the cable is arcade stick mode the middle is standard (I may have this backwards) and the last is racing. Over all this is an excellent convertor for the money and os a must for serious Dreamcast owners.

Works great, except...
...it doesn't recognize my official Sega 4x memory cards.

...and that switch on the side is still a bit of a mystery.

I'm still giving it 5 stars instead of 4 because I don't think there are very many games I'd want to play that both require a VMU to be in the P1 side, slot 1, to save and load data AND make me want to play on anything other than a standard DC pad. Only Gunbird 2 comes to mind.

And yes, it's true... there really is no lag!

There's a switch on the side, choose the right position and R1 and R2 are L and R, useful for the Namco/Real Arcade Pro arcade sticks.

This is something special for Capcom fighters...
I was lucky to receive the item in just 6 days with the cheapest shipping option. Also, out of all the sites I had a look, this site had the cheapest price!
The only thing I was disappointed was that, unlike the photo on this product page, the actual adaptor looks like it is some OEM product, same colour but with only 3 purple letters saying EMS on the top (no sticker saying total control). However on the box is the exact same product in the photo, then I see a sign of it being previously opened, for some strange reason. Well, I guess it tells me I just got something cheaper for a cheaper price.

Anyway, the important bit is the switch on the side, which no other convertors have. There are 3 positions, left, middle and right.
The left position I think is for racing controllers, I don't have one so can't help (sorry). The usual PS controller doesn't work in this position.
The middle position converts it as the usual total control. L trigger is L1 and R trigger is R1. L2 and R2 aren't used.
The right position comes handy for Capcom 6 button fighters! It converts R trigger to R2 (strong kick) and L trigger to R1 (strong punch). This allows use of my PS HORI Real Arcade joystick to be used for the Capcom 6 button fighting games without button trouble. Lovely, I can finally practice 3rd Strike without buying a DC joystick!

Works with the PS2 SCII Stick
This adaptor works with the PS2 Soul Calibur 2 stick, well at least for me. So, if you've got a PS2 SCII stick and you don't fancy your stiff DC one, get this adaptor ASAP!
