vely nise got my gps today, took a little while to boot up, but after a few min it started picking up signals quicker!
(used mapthis software)
first try the psp screen went crazy lol
after that it started working normally =P

Extremely happy with the device. Got mine yesterday (07/24/2008). I was able to lock-in to 6 satellites in 2 minutes and it was able to pi point my exact location. Really love it! Although i hoped shipping would have been faster. Next time I'm going to use the paid shipping. 5 star rating for the product :).

good stuff locking sattelite is not fast... but as I know is like on other modern gps device.

GPS Reciever Using with MapThis and 3.40oe-a. Working well although a little slow in locking onto satelites.
Doesn't come with any software, since nothing else is available besides the homebrew Mapthis.
Main problem is insufficient detail on maps in some areas, but thats no fault of the GPS unit.

Great device! I'm very pleased with the PSP-290 GPS device.
It worked out-of-the-box, and should soon be supported by the "MapThis!" homebrew sofware.
The price is amazingly low for a device with such potential (especially from a company like Sony!)
