A fantastic, innovative surprise for PSP GripShift is really an amazing game. Part racing, part puzzler, all fun. While there is some straight up racing in it, that is not the point of the game, and there is thankfully little of it. The meat of the game is in the Challenge mode, where you try to navigate your way as quickly as possible through crazy levels, while collecting all the stars and hidden icons (each of the three goals can be completed on seperate runs). It's rather reminisant of the Scramble mode from Rollcage Stage II on PS1, another old favorite of mine. Sounds simple, but it is very addictive and challenging. The mini-games are also quite a highlight in that they're actually fun and worth your time. Tip: Do yourself a favor and get a copy for a friend as well; no Tron game ever got Light Cycles so perfect as the multiplayer version of Snaker does in here. In brief: take a chance on this. I think it is among the most innovative games on the system and love it to death. I almost didn't buy it because of the dumb packaging, but am very glad I did! A perfect game for short bursts of play on the go, and equally perfect for long sessions of play unlocking new levels and mini-games and improving your scores and medals. Great stuff.
