Excellent product I was unsure whether to buy this or the official Sony cables but after reading the previous review and cheaper price I went with it
After some confusion later from receiving it (didn't realise the cables weren't plugged ALL the way in, common problem), the rest was easy to setup. Basically you turn on your PSP and if successfully connected it'll ask you whether or not you want the video source diverted to the tv.
When you're playing games/watching movies the image is about 50% smaller than your tv screen, the PSP screen and sound is turned off so the audio comes through your tv. Image quality isn't crisp but perfectly acceptable (no ghosting issues!) whereas text remains focused for easy reading in case you're playing RPGs - its fantastic!

Awesome! 5/5 Stars! Usually I prefer to buy the official stuff when it comes to accessories for gaming consoles because I know a lot of the 3rd party stuff is cheaply priced for a reason. But I decided to buy this component cable instead of the official Sony one because it's made by Hori (reputable Japanese company) and it was half the price ($14.90 on sale!) and boy did I make the right choice!
I don't know how the quality compares with the Sony one since I've never seen it but I can't imagine it being any better. UMD movies look AMAZING on the big screen and the quality is DVD quality! Looks exactly the same as DVDs! Games, while aren't full screen, also look great and you'll instantly notice the lack of any lag that you get on the PSP's LCD screen. Not as sharp as movies but I'm pretty sure that's just because of the PSP hardware (no anti-aliasing and fixed resolution as opposed to full screen) rather than the cable. Never the less games still look sweet on the big screen and they'll probably vary in quality depending on the size and resolution of the TV you use as well as the TV's quality in general.
So if you're tossing up between this one and the Sony one, I can tell you that you won't be disappointed with this one because the picture quality is amazing! I can't imagine the Sony one being any better. Another great product from Hori! Recommended!
