This THE best console stick you can buy aside from custom made sticks ( and you will pay out the @$$ anyway ), the price is very very nice, while the shipping is a fair bit this is justified because of the weight etc, I got mine in 2 days from fed ex.

On to the review-

The stick itself is Sanwa while the green ball like the green and yellow buttons are HORI brand, these are plug in's unlike the US HRAP models which are soldered on, making this the best HRAP model for mods and taking it apart is a joke. What can be said about this stick which has not already been said ? The stick is amazing and very accurate, the buttons while not being sanwa are pretty responsive and of a good quality.

The overall build and weight is a tad misleading, first of all the inside and black rim is a hard ( but good quality ) plastic while the back and top plate is metal, compared to my PS2 large model this thing is pretty light but its heavy enough that it wont slide around but light enough you wont break your wrist lifting it.

Also ( as far as I know ) this is the SECOND version of the HRAP1, meaning it no longer has the easy to scratch mirror plate, it still reflects but has less problems with dirt and scratches, also the sanwa mounting plate has been CHANGED, this means mounting certain other sticks can pose a problem down the road, but its not a major deal.

This really is the best stick you can buy for around this price that has a real sanwa stick inside which is not made in some online custom stick makers basement, while custom sticks in the long run may be better, for anyone who is not stinking rich then this stick is your only option, unless you want some sub par junk for a bit less which will wear out much faster, trust me fork up the shipping and cash for this baby, you wont regret it.

Anyone who longs for the feeling of arcades or wants a better controler for modern or classic fighting games and schmups will instantly fall in love with this, a word of warning though, it may take some people a while to get used to if you have not used an arcade stick for a number of years.

This stick is pritty darn good, buttons arent great, as they are not sanwa buttons, but hori buttons, however the sanwa stick is decently responsive for tekken. I plan on removing the hori buttons and replacing them with sanwa buttons.

Great stick... a bit expensive but i guess its worth it. Beware there might be a import tax once it arrives at ur door.

very impressed with this arcade stick and is def the best ive ever owned. heavy build so it wont slide across the table or ur lap. and the sanwa stick is gorgeous! shame it hasnt got the sanwa buttons but stil a wicked piece of kit.

Le Pad de vos rêves est là !!!
Un excellent Pad arcade. Pour moi le meilleur avec celui de la NEOGEO et de la Dreamcast. Le Hori RAPS offre un confort absolu pour l'amateur de jeux de baston que je suis. Depuis le temps que je cherchais un PAD PS2 de qualité, je dois dire que je suis aux anges.
Le Stick est très robuste et très précis, la boule tien très bien en main. Les boutons sont bien placés et ne donne pas de crampes au doigts.
Les malchanceux qui ont pris l’habitude de jouer avec les PAD sur les genoux vous allez souffrir, car après 2 ou 3 heures de jeu, les 2.5 kilos du monstre vont peser sur vos pauvres jambes. Par contre pour ceux qui joue sur support (table basse, bureau…) les anti dérapant qui maintiennent le PAD sont de bonne qualité et solidement fixé au bestiau.

Bien sûr le Hori RAPS n'est pas parfait, quelques petits défauts viennent noircir légèrement le tableau. Rien de grave je vous rassure, mais je vais quand même citer ceux que j’ai remarqué pour que vous ne soyer pas surpris lors de son utilisation.

- Le premier gros point négatif c'est son prix. Le Pad en lui-même n'est pas excessivement cher, ce qui gonfle la facture, ce sont les frais de port et tout ce qui va avec (plus de 50 euros).
Alors bien sûr c'est un gros investissement, mais bon le prix n'est rien comparé au bonheur que vous ressenter en jouant à GGX2 avec cette merveille. Et pour peu que vous possédiez un adaptateur multi prises, vous pourrez le brancher sur vos autres consoles et PC.

- Deuxième point négatif, les autofires en haut à gauche du Pad gâche un peu le design général du Pad (question de goût).

- Troisième point négatif se sont les boutons qui prennent un peu de jeu avec le temps. En gros les fixations qui maintiennent les boutons à la plaque en platines peuvent s’user, résultat les boutons tournent sur eux même et bougent un peu. J’ai régler se problème en appliquant un scotch double face sur les fixations des boutons et depuis plus de problèmes. Ou vous pouvez tout simplement changer les boutons en rachetant du Sanwa.

- Et enfin dernier petit défaut, un film plastique protecteur recouvre la partit platine du Pad, vous me direz ou est le problème ? eh bien c'est qu’au bout de quelques heures de jeu, la chaleur que produit le frottement du poignet décolle le plastique, ce qui fait apparaître de petites vagues bien désagréables.
Mais bon, le problème n'est pas grave, il suffit de démonter le Pad et de retirer le plastique, ce qui est très simple (démontage tout bête, quelques vises à enlever).


En conclusion si vous êtes amateur d’arcade foncer sur cette petite merveille, vous ne regretterez pas votre argent et l’investissement sera largement rentabilisé par les heures de plaisir qu’ils vous procurera.

Arcade Pro HORI
Just after using this stick for 5 minutes, I realised that this is the best arcade stick on the market. PERIOD. I can now play all my favorite fighting games knowing that the moves will come out. Couple that with the fact that Play-Asia deliver a highly recommended service, and you get a very Happy man. Thanks Play-Asia.

imo this is the best arcade stick available!! i have tested my friend'd stick and i fell in love ;) the sanwa stick is perfect.. the buttons are ok... but i recommend to change them with real sanwa buttons (if u want a real good arcade stick). i have a x-arcade.. and it's ok.. but compared to the hori... lol.. no question.. go for the hori!!! arcade feeling and precision at it's best. i don't even have a PS2 :p but it also works great with adapters eg xbox, neogeo ;)
now go and buy it :p

The only stick you really should get
Ordered on friday, received on monday- faster than i expected, was elated to say the least. Good size, not heavy, stick IS the arcade type(sanwa as stated in reviews below) buttons are relatively good- the subtle dome feel is fine(not Sanwa-but easily replaceable with arcade ones-which i'm planning to do). Was happy with play-asia.com's speedy service email help desk. BUY THIS STICK ACCEPT NO ALTERNATIVES.

The Best Stick In the World
I got it four days ago and I can't have enough. Truly amazing, exactly like the arcades experience, with a real Sanwa stick and great convex dome-type buttons. If you like fighting games or classic arcades there's really nothing better. It will give your gaming a whole new level of excitement. Highly recommended

Very realistic gameplay with this excellent and truly arcade stick.

Solid stick
I've been wanting a new arcade stick and i got it. The buttons are nice, the weight of the stick is nice too. Fits well in your lap and on a table. Has rubber pads so that it dosent move. Very durable, capable of taking a beating. I put it to the test with some button slamming on Tekken 5 praticing kinds chain throws. Works like a charm. Only thing i dont like is the joy stick itself actually rotates. Really that's just preference. If you dont have this stick, you're behind the power curve.

Really have arcade feel
it is really good stick that I ever have. The base is heavy so that it doesn't move while playing, the stick movement is exactly like the one in Arcade.

HORI = Top Tier Joysticks
Best stick I've ever used. Even more comfortable than an actual sanwa stick in a Sega Astro City cab. It actually is a lot like a custom built sanwa, but constructed much better. Custom sticks always break, but this thing is a tank. Better than x-arcade, better than mas, better than everything.

I was needing something for GGX2 and Street Fighter Aniver. Collection. Needless to say, I found it! This is a very good stick, and consider it an excellent purchase, not to mention I received it within a few days! I was going to buy the blue hori stick, but you can feel confident about getting a good stick when you buy this one.
