As stated in the description, Judgement Silversword Rebirth Edition is the winning title from the 2001 Wonderwitch Programming Competition.
The game is set up in Vertical Mode and your ship is capable of firing 2 types of bullets. One is a spread-like shot, and the other is concentrated. There is also a Shield option that would allow you to absorb bullets.
The game will experience some slow down when the screen is filled with the enemy's shot but you'll be grateful for this as it allows you to skillfully dodge it, thanks to the responsive controls.
The sound effects are adequate, considering this is the Wonderswan and the music is quite catchy, albeit only 2 (1 for the levels, another for boss fights).
I can understand why this game won the competition in 2001. Its concept is simple and yet the gameplay is all there.
If you need further convincing, head to official website and download the demo movie. It will wow you just as it did for me.
