Great Compilation Disc, Not Totally Enjoyable Like the game itself, the Final Fantasy: Dissidia Soundtrack is a mash-up of all the best the series has to offer musically from games 1-10. Unfortunately, a lot of the songs have been remixed to where they aren't enjoyable. On the other hand, many songs have been remixed to be even more enjoyable than their originals. There are also a few songs, particularly from the later games in the series, which are left untouched from their original soundtrack versions. So music-wise, this score is kind of a wash.
The packaging is excellent and definitely for the avid collector. One side of the packaging representing Chaos (Evil) and the other Cosmos (Good).
Ultimately I recommend this for the fact that it is the best "Best of Final Fantasy Music" collection you're going to get.
Nostalgic This soundtrack is just full of pumped up versions of familiar tunes. Really an enjoyable listen!

Old Memories This is definetly worth the wait and anticipation! Containg at 55 tracks are songs composed and recycled from FF1 ~ FF12... mainly, the main themes and battle themes we're all used to. Though on the second disc, there is quite some disappointment; most of the tracks are original but then again, in its original state, it gives a sense of "memories" when playing the game, I guess. The only thing I didn't like about disc 2 was the fact of the remake of "Over the Hill" for FFIX. It sounded... strange. Some of the songs, I wished they had remade it like, "The Extreme" for FFVIII and "Battle 2" for FFIX; in my opinion, they should have used "Evil Messenger" for that and remixed... Otherwise, everything is 5 stars from here on!
Dissidia by FAR is wonderful in terms of its game and music. It's fun to play to themes that we're all used to; makes it THAT much more fun!

A must-have for fans This is an incredible soundtrack, complete with original versions and remixes of the best world map music and battle themes from every game in the series. And the original Dissidia tracks are relaxing one minute, pulse-pounding the next. A perfect trip down memory lane for longtime fans of the series.
To top it all off, this set contains not only "Cosmos" and "Chaos" by Your Favorite Enemies, but also the bonus track "The Messenger." If you enjoy hard rock with beautiful male and female vocals, you'll probably enjoy these songs.
I can't recommend it enough. A wonderful addition to the RPG fan's music collection.

Note: The limited edition soundtrack only has one package design, and it is double-sided. Cosmos on one side, Chaos on the other. The packaging has a gold trim around each illustration, and is made of a canvas-like material (like an old hardcover book).
The limited edition comes equipped with a booklet, on the cover is the cg rendered battle scene of the two teams of Chaos and Cosmos, which wraps around the outside cover (chaos team on the back, cosmos on the front). The inside of the booklet includes a track listing, Amano artwork for the God and Goddess, and some other miscellaneous artworks, as well as lyrics.
The CD booklet on the inside of the case is covered by the same artwork featured on the outside casing, albeit completely covering each side of the cd case.
Inside the CD case are obviously the discs, and some sort of redemption code for square enix members.
I think this is overall a beautiful set, and I'm glad I nabbed two of one. Keeping things sealed increases its value tenfold if you take care of it :)
