I love this. To listen to new versions of old songs I had come to love is completely awesome.
This compilation does the series justice. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves the MOTHER series (it's a bonus if you already loved the music from the games too).

Great purchase for Mother fans!
This product was definitely worth picking up. If you are a huge Earthbound, or Mother series fan in general, these tracks will keep you coming back for more, as each song is so wonderful to listen to, and has such good replay value (just like the games). Even though I had never played the GBA game, the remakes of these songs are very well done, having played and heard songs from the first two Mother games. You will not regret buying this!

For the hardcore Mother fan
Twenty-six tracks of Mother goodness. Mother 1+2 has an excellent selection of songs, but I must be honest. This is not the best Mother album.
Some of the arrangements are iffy. I have mixed feelings about some of the songs. Wisdom of the World has a slow tempo, Onett is played in a different key than the original, the list goes on.
But Mother 1+2 is still worthwhile. Though I initially didn't like the arrangement for Bein' Friends that much, it grew on me. Twoson's arrangement is awesome, as are Eight Melodies (all three versions), Smiles and Tears, and Twinkle Elementary School. Even the first two songs I mentioned I liked, it's just... different.
Though it may take some getting used to, and though some of the arrangements are a little weird, if you like the Mother series, get it! In fact, get the Mother and Mother 2 soundtracks as well!

Wonderful Soundtrack
The music of this album is not straight from the two games, but updated versions of the songs. It's a wonderful soundtrack to listen to if you're a fan of the series. You get 26 great tracks. Highly reccomended.
