Master Game
Hideo Kojima´s my favorite game developer and producer, so years ago I checked this out in the american ver. I was totally pleased when I started the game. If you have the oportunity to buy, don´t think twice.
The point here is that I bought this so I could have the jp. sp. servion as a collector´s sealed item.

you must get this game before it goes out of print
Now lets face it, the North American version is already out of print so getting a new copy is pretty difficult. However, getting a new copy of the Japanese version is still possible and I might add that this is the game in its original form. There are no English dubbing here, everything in classic goodness. You really dont need English dubbing in a robot mecha game. I might add that Hideo Kojima is considered a genius in the videogaming world and Zone of Enders series clearly demonstrates this. When the game was released, the graphics were practically unmatched and even to this day, you can appreciate the great art style the game displays. It is truly a work of art. The gameplay is mech but not quite Virtual On, Armored Core, or Gundam. In fact, it tops all of those series with the exception of Virtual On. What you want this game for is for its great story, the original Zone of enders is in fact an anime simulation game if you read the back of the packaging on that one. This one follows up, but the gameplay and graphics are so much more refined and advanced.

One of the most refined games for the PS2.
Anubis: Zone of the Enders Special Edition is the third release for Anubis: Zone of the Enders, with each release the game got even more refined.
Besides the story or whatever the selling point of this game is the gameplay, or to be more specific the battles, either normal enemies or bosses.
You pilot a robot and have a complete 3D freedom to move and fly about, there are lots of basic moves, dashing, grabbing, shield, sub weapons etc.
The boss battle are very stylish and cool, it's like the Reaction Commands in Kingdom Hearts II, however the very big difference, is that this game is actually quite hard and that unlike Reaction Commands all the stylish action is controlled by you instead of just being a cool movie that happens while pressing just one button.
For people that want a challenge there are also 6 difficulty modes with Normal being the second easiest.
For people that like gameplay above anything else this game is a must.

Still the best robot-action-game on PS2!
A reminiscent of year 2003 for me..... Anubis Zone of the Enders was released back in Feb 2003. By watching the trailers of the game back then, I was hyped and especially by the unparallel Japanese voice over that it featured. Yes the Japanese voice over is top--> Inoue Kazuhiko (Dingo Egret), Kosugi Juurouta (Nohman), Saka Osamu (Lloyd), Yukino Satsuki (Ken Marinaris). Then the announcement for the Special Edition came (which would come out Jan 2004). So I had no choice but to be patient and wait for the Special Edition. But when Jan 2004 came, for some personal reason I did not buy the game & after that I overlooked its presence. So after 3+ years I decided finally to buy this discounted price "palace" edition!
The game rocks and is so much fun! Might be short (does not have the Metal Gear Solid series proportions) but it is so enjoying! You can finish the game in like 2 days in normal mode. Now I am playing in hard-mode and will progress on higher difficulty levels. Button mashing "For The Win" in this game, but relatively strategic playing is required at the same time.
This Special Edition is Japanese market exclusive--> It has all the stuff that the (delayed) PAL ZOE2 version featured plus more! The director/planner/writer of the game is Murata Shuyo (director/writer of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4!) and the producer is Kojima Hideo.
Contains Japanese voice over. The package has reversible cover.

fun stuff
nothing ground breaking or especially original storyline, developments; canned (japanese flavored none the less) characters, fantasy sifi. Does have lots of fun actions though! had reat button-smashing time and beat it in three days on nornal difficulty (somewhat challenging), even thought I am not a huge game addict. will try beating it in hard this time.
funny/infamus things about this game:
the main character's name is ディンゴ・イーグリット (Dingo Egret). well, fits with the Anubis theme and all.. but ... dont ever name your child Dingo, folks.
Also, one strange war cry from your support character you will encounter in the beginning of the game has become infamus for causing confusion and mystery. It actually is a made-up word by the script writer...
a fun game and true to the first one.
