Several thousand years have passed since the demon warrior Sparda raised his sword against the unholy world to save the humanrace. Victorious and assured that evil forces had been confined, Sparda joined mankind and fathered Dante, a half human-half demon son infused with the power of a supernatural lineage. However, Dante was not the only son Sparda had sired. As devoted as Dante was to defeating the forces of evil, his twin brother, Virgil, was consumed by power and upheld the legacy of his sinister ancestors. One moonlit night, a mysterious tower materialized beside Dante's "Devil May Cry" investigative agency. On the rooftop stood his brother along with his inhuman minions goading Dante into a confrontation.
Devil May Cry 3 unfolds an earlier chapter in Dante's history, before the original Devil May Cry, to the fateful clash between Sparda’s twin sons, divided bythe divergence of their chosen paths. Along the way, Dante encounters formidable foes and unusual characters including a mysterious man named Arkham and a female hunter named Lady whose mission is to take down all demons, including Dante. These precursory events disclose the complex roots of Dante's character and reveal insight into his clouded past.
Devil May Cry 3 preserves the fast-paced action that has made the series so popular. In addition to its strong roots, the game increases the intensity of gameplay with a new "style" system, which adds an additional level of depth. Depending on preference, players can choose to use short-range, long-range, defensive or evasive play styles. Each system has its own range of gameplay features and players can choose to power up their favorite style for increased special attack abilities. The range of options available in Devil May Cry 3 immerses players in a non-stop, thrilling escapade.
Pretty Pricey This game was great, I am glad you just couldn't load your old game or else you would just play as Vergil and that would be it. Though Virgil is very powerful I still think Dante is the best, get this game!

Devils Never Cry, but they sure do rock! as i write this review im about half way through the game, and can give you a fairly accurate description of what you will expect
first of all this is a prequel, well suppose to be, i could never understand why Dante has that pendant which he got from his mother trish in the first game if its a prequel lol regardless, the action starts off in Dantes Office which he has yet to name
its a simple brother vs brother rivalry as you will see from the awesome Opening Movie a battle between brothers, and in a sense his brother has invited him to one final battle, and as you all know Dante is cool enough to accept any challenge thats put his way without question, and with some style
Graphics-
the graphics in this game are much better then the first 2, with noticeable effects in backgrounds etc
Music
Gothic punk it seems like, but its very catchy, and will make all the battles worth fighting
Gameplay
Dante has a ton of new moves, and has some awesome moves with NEW weapons which you can get from bosses
Bosses
Lets just say the bosses arent forgiving, their difficult, very difficult, you could easily speand a half hour without saving and reach a boss and die, there is NO save point but that doesnt matter, since you can save between missions
lol i love the banter between each boss fight
My Overall Opinion
this games great, obviously i cant spoil it for you and give you every last detail but lets just say if you can buy one game this year for the PS2 make this it
cant wait for the next gen DMC
