Item Description

Three of the most popular Sega Mega Drive action games appear in one great compilation, publisher under the Sega Ages label. Gunstar Heroes: Treasure Box has been developed by Treasure themselves, containing the following three games: Gunstar Heroes, Dynamite Headdy and Alien Soldier. The collection contains the Japanese original and a number of foreign versions of each game (for example the US version of Dynamite Headdy, which changed some of the graphics and the European version of Alien Soldier), super plays of Alien Solder and Gunstar Heroes, option to record your own play, concept illustrations and artworks, display options to neutralize the original sprite flickering and a higher resolution.Gunstar Heroes was originally released in 1993 and is a horizontal scrolling action-shooting game, which can be played with two persons simultaneously. A remake with new features was released in 2005 on Gameboy Advance™.Dynamite Headdy was released one year later, in 1994 and is a horizontal scrolling comical action game with lots of puzzle elements. The game was simultaneously released on Mega Drive and Game Gear in Japan, however no other ports or remakes were released afterwards. The last game of the compilation - Alien Soldier - was released in 1995 and only published on Mega Drive. It is a 1-player action shooting game, which used all the capabilities of the 16-bit hardware generation, including impressive boss characters. Despite appearance of the Sega Saturn console in 1995, the game has reached high attention among action game fans and is still popular and well known at present.

Offers more then Treasure Classics!
Even thou it's Treasure classic titles that almost everyone wants and talks about from the Sega Genesis era, this package does a really good job offering much more then the three games.

The disc also contains concept arts and alot bits that Treasure included which make these games happen. It's worth it and I would never expected the extra content. It's worth checking it out!

Decent collection of Treasure Genesis/Mega Drive games
The collection doesn't have any of the licensed games like YYH fighter and the McDonald platformer. This is still a great collection though. Has a lot of great features like Hidden games, archives, recording, etc.

3 Collected Greats of the Genesis and more
Aside from some minor sound emulation issues, this is a perfect collection. The original artwork and other extras are wonderful.

I would also like very much to thank user AtlanticSurfer for the unlock code!

Your ultimate 16-bit Treasure Box indeed!
Except for the 2 licensed game (McDonaldLand and Yu Yu Hakusho), this basically completes your 16 - bit Treasure games collection for Mega Drive. Even includes the little seen Game Gear version of Gunstar Heroes.

Long live Sega and the golden era of video games!

Even more games to unlock too....
This collection is really well thought out, and offers a wealth of features. There are some good easter eggs included too:

Not only can you select the Japanese or Overseas version of each game (press select in any game to bring up the sub-menu), but you can also unlock the hidden Game Gear and \'prototype\' versions of Gunstar Heroes and the Game Gear or Sega Master System versions of Dynamite Headdy. These can be accessed by holding right on the D-pad at the version-select prompt (in the sub-menu) for 12 seconds. They will stay unlocked if you then then \'save system file\' after.

So theres even more than just the three classic Genesis/Megadrive titles here after all. I recommend all retro fans to buy this great package right now, before it goes out of print and becomes a sort after collectors package with a collectors price to match! You know it will...
