Sex appeal around every corner, but sloppy execution and horrible Western actors overload this average “hot Asians kicking ass”-film with way too much cheese.

SHU QI (SO CLOSE, THE EYE 2) and JULIAN CHEUNG (THE SUSPECT) star in this Hong Kong homage to CHARLIE'S ANGELS. Cat burglar Cat (Shu), upon knowing that her former fling Zi-yang (Cheung)is captured by the Russians while trying to steal a computer chip, recruits a group of drop dead gorgeous female agents who called themselves the 7 Angels. They must finish Zi-yang's job and turn in a chip in exchange for his life
If you’re planning on buying this movie to get a serious crime/action film with big action scenes and carefully planned out story line, look else where because you won’t find it here.
What you will find though, is a lot of gorgeous girls flaunting their stuff around, hooting some guys, and occasionally doing a martial art move or two.
The plot is generic and boring, a lot of the acting is ludicrous (although Sandra Ng has her moments) and the set pieces seemed to been borrowed from every other B grade action movie the only difference here is that they make no attempt at originality and end up creating nothing more than substandard D grade action.
Despite all these complaints MARTIAL ANGELS does have some pluses (mostly unintentional though).
Sandra Ng delivers much needed comic relief and the interaction between the girls does prove to be entertaining and there is nothing funnier than watching a butch actor with a bad Russian accent do martial arts!
Of course those here just for the glamour shots of these 7 beauties will probably be satisfied with what they get, but yeah these are some pretty hot chicks!
