Rita Sior of the kingdom of Wellber has been set to marry the prince of a neighbouring country for the sake of peace, which she complies to for the sake of her country. But when the prince takes one too many liberties, her face is found on wanted posters all over her country for his murder. Her father and brother try to stal for time while she takes a treaty to an allying country far to the south but the honoured guards of the late prince are on her pursuit. With this treaty being her only hope, she cannot chose her freinds so ends up in the company of female thief Tina, her fairy Cherry and the talking tank the Count. A unique story of politics, freindship, fantasy and deep character play.
Wonderfully unique In search for an anime that was neither a regurgitation of another or so boring it may as well have been, I came accross this one.
At first, the idea of a princess in arranged marriage seemed so "been there, got the t-shirt". But I was hooked on the first episode.
The plot has ever been done before and the two female protagonists that are neither wimpy little ladies who need protecting or hollow girls waiting for mr. right are absolutely charming. These girls take care of themselves (the fact that the princess can't dress herself aside) and drink beer and eat club sandwiches and ride legs astride. And I loved them for it.
Also unlike a lot of anime, one of the main characters, Tina, is already involved with a man in a long-term residential partnership. A slice of real life here. This anime doesn't play around on niceties, it gives the brutal truth of the way of things and (talking tank aside) has a very realistic quality to it for a fantasy anime.
It has some adult themes, such a partial nudity but all in good taste. It just adds to the plot and the realism, not for pointless booty coverage.
From the beginning you could tell the plot will hold a plot that won't grow tired and has the potential to be epic in quality.
Overall, a great combination of beautiful art and CGI, complex plot, realistic situations and addictive characters. A muse see.
