With the end comes a new beginning Well after the original series and movies there was only one thing that manga could do - rebuild evangelion...
The movie is the same as the beginning of the original series up to fifth angel. The animation is state of the art and is totally breathtaking time and time again.
This movie is in Japanese and there are no subtitles - although it helps to know how to speak nihongo you can get away with having knowledge from the series itself and the animation tells the story just as well.
This movie is total rebuild of the first episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion - there is no longer a presence of an incessant psychological journey - instead we are left with suspense as to what is going to be changed as the new saga unfolds and we go through all the memorable points in the story.
The end opens the door to the restructuring of the story and really enforces the fantasy of the series.
Always wanting more and the next movie is great - I can't wait for the dvd/blu ray it is amazing and is definitely the best manga/anime in history - just can't wait.
At the end of end of evangelion the three pilots rei, shinji and asuka are shown surrounded by a sea of blood - the blood is from the death of Lillith (Rei) - ending third impact. In the original series lilith wears a mask that is the symbol of Seele in that series. In the rebuild Lilith wears an angels face - what does this suggest about the direction of the plot?
The bonus features are plentiful - included is the full script, numerous trailers and special content that goes on to fascinate...
On a scale of 1 -10 this movie and NGE gets 100 from me. Don't miss it for the world!
