Great horror simulator
It seems, there is a new subgenre for horror games, the horror-sims. Games where you usually play a weak and frightened character without weapons who has to flee the scene or survive. Instead of hit points the character has kyôfu (terror) points. If he or she gets too terrified, the ghosts kill you and the game is over.

Hudson Software's Calling: Kuroki Chakushin is one of those simulation games. And a very good one, I think.

The game is in first person, you control your character with wiimote and nunchuck. No other controls are available, so make sure you have a nunchuck at hand!

Most of the time, you will spend walking dark rooms searching for clues that make you understand what happened to you. If you find a flashlight, you can search area that were too dark before.

The great plus of the game is the atmosphere. Almost no background music makes the sensation realistic. Typical sounds of abandoned places, like squeaking doors and lose floor tiles make you jump at first, but what really gives shivers are the sounds you would NOT exspect in a place like this...
And then there is this cell phone out of nowhere. The ghost whispering to you when you take the call...

I only started playing this yesterday, but as j-horror movie aficionado, I like this game a lot - and so will everybody else who loves movies like ju-on, ringu or of course the cell phone horror trilogy chakushin ari.
