I've always loved the Taiko no Tatsujin (literally means "Taiko Drum Master") franchise, from the Arcades, PS2, and the Nintendo DS. So I had to get this Wii version at the release date. Adventure in the world of drums and rhythms on your Wii. With the drum sticks in both hand and the drum before you, sit up straight to receive the challenges from taikos throughout the vicinity. The rhythm game is suitable for all ages, the concept is as simple as this, beat the drum according to the cues given, everyone, from young children to the elderly, can participate in this great party.
Over 70 pieces of popular Jpop and anime songs are used in this game. Enjoy the music, your family's and your friends' company and train your sense of rhythm with the Taikos.
The magic of Taiko no tatsujin at Home A really nice and resistant controler, a hufe playlist composed by hits, the whole serie of "2000" remix (Saitama 2000, tenjiku 2000, etc etc).. a great game, really.

Huge Shame This is a great game with a great controller. Its a great shame this isn't officially being released in USA, as Donkey Konga did quite well!

Taiko no Tatsujin Rules! This is a great game for any system. Unfortunately it's only for the Japanese Wii (and US PS2, maybe?) and it's a bit pricey. Plus, I can't find an extra drum controller that isn't some 3rd-party knock off. In the end, none of this really has to do with the game though, which is as awesome as I remember playing it in the game centers of Japan. All of the J-pop, anime, Japanese craziness is intact, which can often only be experienced by importing a game directly from Japan. It's easy to play even if you don"t understand Japanese. I'd highly recommend it if you like zany Japanese games, or simplistic rhythm games. Great for kids of all ages!
The only improvement I could see would be an online mode, or downloadable content. If they can do it for a music games as complicated as Guitar Hero and Rock Band, than why not Taiko no Tatsujin. Get on it Namco!

Best Music game on the Wii! I've always loved the Taiko no Tatsujin (literally means "Taiko Drum Master") franchise, from the Arcades, PS2, and the Nintendo DS. So I had to get this Wii version at the release date. And I have to say, it's all worth it. You get a Taiko Drum when purchasing the game, and you play it by connecting the Taiko Drum into your Wii Remote. If you want to play the multiplayer mode but you only have one Taiko Drum, you could play it by just using the Wii Remote (by pushing buttons, not air-drumming). Or you could also use the Classic Controller. There are 70-ish songs in the game in 4 difficulties. Different from other Taiko no Tatsujin games, in this game, you actually make a Baby Taiko by starting the game, and raise it until it's big by playing the games. Songs range from J-pop such as "Polyrhythm" by Perfume, or Anime songs such as "Motteke! Sailor Fuku" from the anime Lucky Star, Retro Game songs in 8-bit such as Super Mario Brothers Medley and the Star Soldier Medley, Video Game songs such as "Do-Dai" from THE iDOLM@STER, Namco Original Songs, Classic Songs, Children Songs and many more! Miis or Characters from the original song are heavily used in this game as dancers, such as Mario and the others would appear in the "Super Mario Brothers Medley" song. There's also this Challenge Mode and Daily Training Dojo Mode. Overall, this game would keep you happy for months!
