Function Over Form Sure this remote looks ugly and not classy as its Xbox 360 counterpart, but it serves its purpose quite well must I say. Hearing songs, watching movies and even playing some games is a breeze. Although, Sony could have added a light or two on the damn thing or a power button for battery conservation. But still, a good one from SCEI, even with these negligible flaws.
PS3 Bluray Remote I was hoping for something a bit more stylish to match the decor for the PS3, but this remote is merely functional. It does all it needs to be a bluray remote. It could do with a more ergonomic design update though.
More useful than I imagined I bought the remote mainly because I watch many blu-rays on my PS3. It's certainly more convenient to use compared to the gamepad which requires two handed operation to rewind, fast forward etc. With the remote, everything falls into place with no re-programming of the brain needed. A bonus is that because the remote is recognised as a controller, many possibilities are possible in usage, like navigating the PS store, pictures, music and possibly even games!
A must have for Blu-ray movie fans For those who are watching their Blu-ray movies on the PS3, this remote is a must have accessories. Navigating the menus with this remote is much better and less awkward with this remote compared to the PS3 controller.
