Amazing shooter, the first for PS3 I was looking for this game and with the Play-Asia promotion it was a great deal. I'm just reviewing this game because my post office keep it hidden, until this week was delivered to my house and I started to play, play, play and play, is so addictive and so easy to play. I recommend everyone out there to buy this amazin game.
Highly ejoyable FPS If you have a ps3 and like fps, you could certainly do a lot worse than resistance. While the gameplay does not offer anything new, it remains pretty solid. As for story, it certainly is not the most original one, but it is very enjoyable, I mean Alternate reality WWII setting in which you fight alien mutations, what's not to like? Also the graphics are kinda nice.
Good for local multi-player mayem My friends and I clocked a lot of time playing the multi-player modes. One reason it's great is because so many of the modern FPS games out there have scrapped the local multi-player modes. This offers up to 4-on-4 action and for the "Greatest Hits" price.
I picked up Resistance 1 to fill the time between the release of some other games that I wanted and I can say that I wasn't disappointed. It's well made and has a decent story, but it wasn't the single player campaign that I spent most of my time on.
Still one of the better FPSs on the PS3 Despite being made in the early days of the PS3, Resistance: Fall of Man still holds up remarkably well today. Graphical standards are good except for some awkward and still character animations, but these are few and far between. The single-player campaign is story-driven and contains some absolutely intense firefights. I have completed this game at least 5 times by now, and still pop in the disc from time to time for some shootouts. Unlike the largely dissapointing Resistance 2, this game allows you unlimited access to all the weapons you pick up in-game (there are over 10 to collect). Plenty of fun to be had experimenting with different weapons against different enemies in different settings. Sadly, this was not retained in the sequel, wich explains why I sold off my Resistance 2 upon completion and am still playing Resistance. Great buy!
Great for a launch title! Although a laucnh title it still holds up well compared to even the most recent FPS's to make their way on to the PS3. The singleplayer campaign is very lengthy and the multiplayer has enough unique features to hold your interest. The game also ivolves a fun little alternate history storyline about an alien invasion of Europe in the 1940's.
Best First Person Shooter on the PS3 And yes, I believe it is better than COD4. For those of you who like WW2 shooters and/or Sci-fi shooters, this is a must buy. Not only does the story line play out beautifully, but everything meshes so well you will actually feel like you are Nathan Hale. Online is also a blast.
Excellent FPS Resistance is a great first FPS for the PS3. It's like a mix between Call of Duty, Quake, and Area 51. The gameplay is solid and very good, the game length is a lot longer than a lot of shooters out there, the unlockables are cool and unlocking them is achieved by fulfilling certain objectives in each mission, and lastly the story is interesting, logical, and captivating, another area where many shooters fall down.
Single player and multiplayer are both a lot of fun, and for the single player campaign the difficulty level can be set for beginners through to FPS legends.
The ending is also left wide open for a sequel, and I hope it comes soon!
