Game Cube Game Boy Players confirmed to work with US and PAL machines using the Freeloader - Video inside

Today is the official Japanese release date of Nintendo's Game Cube Game Boy Player. Play-Asia has already received its shipment yesterday and preorders have been shipped out on the same day.

We finally had the chance and test the compability of the Game Boy Players with non Japanese Game Cube machines and the results were very positive:

USA American machines:

GB Players work fine on US machines with Japanese modification.

GB Players work fine using Datel's Freeloader.

GB Players do not work on unmodified machines only!

PAL machines:

GB Players work fine using Datel's Freeloader. A RGB Cable will be required for a color display output though.

GB Players do not work on unmodified machines!

Those are indeed great news for all people who don't like to wait until late June for a domestic release of the GB Player. Just grab a Freeloader, which can also be used for other import gaming needs as well as the GB Player in any of your preferred color and you are ready to go. Finally you can play all your Game Boy, Game Boy Color and even Game Boy Advance games on your TV via the Game Cube.

As a small side note, Made in Wario for the GBA™ has been released today. Made in Wario features a collection of Mini Games with Wario and his friends. In stock now for US$ 44.90, a good add-on for all GB Player purchasers since the cartridge won't see any release out of Japan before May.

Update: We made a small video to prove that the GB Player indeed works with other than Japanese Game Cubes that have been modified. We used our JAP/US modified Game Cube in US mode to conduct the tests.
