Viewtiful Joe 2 to be released on Gamecube before Christmas 2004?
   
While rumours about Viewfiful Joe heading to PS2™ are currently all around the net, a Hong Kong based game magazine (Game Watch) has revealed some - yet officially to be confirmed - news about a possible Gamecube™ successor to Capcom's action game.

We have translated the indeed very interesting news and put together everything important into a small facts sheet:

  • The main character of the game will be Joe
  • A second character in the game will be Joe's girlfriend Silvia
  • Silvia is carrying 2 cheerleader like pom-poms
  • Joe & Silvia are fighting together in a team
    (i.e., Joe can hit an enemy into the sky, where Silvia will finish him off)
  • The graphics and style of VJ2 will be similar to VJ
  • Also the gameplay & system will be similar
  • Viewtiful Joe 2 will feature 6 different transport methods
  • Most likely a different studio will be responsible for VJ2
  • Viewtiful Joe 2 is expected to be officially shown on E3
  • Viewtiful Joe 2 is expected to be released before Christmas 2004

    Preorders for the PS2™ version of Viewtiful Joe as well as a possible Gamecube™ version of Viewtiful Joe 2 will be opened as soon both titles have officially been announced. Until then we still recommend the latest Japanese re-release version of Viewtiful Joe Revival (which is identical to Viewtiful Joe but with a low price tag and new "sweet game mode" featuring a lower difficulty level).
