After more than a month, the import price for the Game Boy Advance SP™ handhelds finally seems to drop down a bit. The reason for this appears to be the availability of the new official Asian version Game Boy Advance SP™ models. We have added those units to our product catalogue now, so all importers are welcome to chose between either the Japanese or the Asian model. What's the difference? Here is a small overview:

1. Packing: The Asian version model comes in a slightly bigger packing due to the bigger AC Power Adapter. Further the Asian model features English text on the back compared to the Japanese writing on the back of the Japanese packing.

2. Manual: The Asian model includes an English language instructions booklet, compared to the Japanese model, which is of course in Japanese only.

3. Power Supply: Probably the major difference is the AC Power Adapter. While the Japanese model comes with a 110V power supply (which is most ideal for users in Japan, USA and Canada), the Asian model includes a 220V power supply (perfect for all users in South East Asia, Europe & Australia).

Both models are now available in all three colors (Black, Silver/Platinum and Blue) for an import price of US$ 129. We recommend users in the US & Canada to stick with the 110V model while customers in Europe & Australia might probably prefer the 220V one.

As a small side note, the black colored Game Boy Advance SP™ model has for whatever reason not been scheduled for release in the US (but only in Japan, Asia and Europe so far), so it remains a great offer for US buyers even after domestic release of the GBA SP™ in a few days.
