After a delay of roughly 3 weeks we're happy to receive sufficient stock today, Dec 19, 2005. With all accessories to be in stock as well, customers who selected courier shipping will be happy to receive their orders just in time for Christmas! And with sufficent stock available for future orders, those placed quickly will still be on time, too!
That's not all of the good news. Gamepark Holdings worked hard to improve glitches that have been found in the initial version, thus stability, performance and battery time could be improved dramatically (although battery time is still not close to the original specs, unfortunately).
Here's a list of items arrived today, Dec 19, 2005.
Please be reminded that, albeit having buffers, stock is limited; if you are looking for a Christmas present, you should not wait too long. Further stock is anticipated after the holidays only.
As mentioned above, the first shipment of GP2X Units was flawed by some minor problems. To give you an overview of what has been changed, we are reproducing Gamepark Holding's fix list here:
- Software fixes
- Solved the problem of one white line showing on left side of LCD screen.
- Solved the problem of different brightness of left half and right half of LCD screen.
- Solved phenomena of color-spreading.
- History function is added to E-Book MENU so that the line read last time shall be memorized automatically. Even when the device is turned off and then rebooted, it memorizes the line read last time.
- Corrected volume adjustment to 10 levels. Corrected problem of pausing a little while adjusting volume.
- Solved SD card detection difficulty with some brand of SD card and improved compatibility.
(EX: Toshiba etc). Once upgraded most SD cards of 1 Giga and under shall be detected.
- Improved the stability of SD card drive and corrected problem of frequent down when playing video files.
(Big size video file(1.5 mega and up) may sometimes experience DOWN. Keep on working on this.
- Corrected the problem that battery LED is turned on continuously when the battery electricity is not insufficient. So the battery LED will not be turned on. In the near future, will make battery turned on when battery electricity is being depleted.
- Corrected the video player problem of returning to the beginning when pressed Pause and then pressed Play again.
- Corrected the problem of slowing down a little while adjusting EQ of MP3 player.
- Hardware fixes have been made as well:
- Picture trembling has generally been improved (not noticable anymore)
- Improved darker pictures by changing electric resistance of LCD driver
According to Gamepark Holding and indicated in the list above, some new fixes are still in progress. We would like to point out that we are very happy on Gamepark Holding's approach to work hard on fixing existing problems - One must understand that problems always may occur when putting a brand new model on the market.
