~Louis Koo, Karen Mok, Wang Yik. Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. On the Hong Kong-Guangzhou expressway, Yan (Huang Yi) and Hui (Louis Koo) had been living in different lanes - Yan ran a roadside diner with her husband Cheung, while Hui worked as a truck driver passing by daily. Their lives never intersect until one stormy night, when Cheung's motorcycle crashed into Hui's truck. Cheung died soon afterwards, and Hui wished he were too. In addition to his unbearable guilt, Hui also lost his truck and livelihood due to further police investigation. Hui returned to Hong Kong and sought solace from his fiancee Susan (Karen Mok). But without any income, their wedding was on the brink of cancellation.

Life seemed to have no way out. Yan was in labor and overwhelmed by Hui's affection and care. Yet she believed his love was merely misguided sympathy, and they were meant to go on separate ways. As Hui broke up with Susan to be with Yan, he was shocked to find both Yan and the diner were gone. Where could he find the road that lead to Yan's heart?

~Tersea Mo, Anthony Wong, Ronald Cheng, Karen Mok. This is a "Cinema Paradiso" of Hong Kong. The story runs from 1964 to 2007, the most memorable years in Hong Kong history. Kong, whose last name is "Left", has had spent most of his life in a cinema. He had once held the authority for Mainland Chinese films and "Great Wall, Feng Huang & Sun Luen" films in Hong Kong. He was a projectionist at Silver Cinema. Beginning in the sixties, "The Great Wall, Feng Huang, Sun Luen" had produced many films that led the main stream. They are where the famous Xia Meng, Jet Li, Johnny To, Cherie Chung and many others started their film careers. The films they produced had not only captured the glamorous of the stars but also vivid sceneries of China. In his early years, Kong had always said to his friends and families that he loved China and his biggest wish was to visit the place. But no one could have guessed that his dream would not come true in the next forty years. Nowadays, when millions of Hong Kong citizens are transiting in and out of China on daily basis, Kong is yet to implement his dream. Unlike his father, Chong hated being "Left", his biggest dream was to make money. In the 80s, Chong became an adolescence and China had opened her door to the world. Chong had finally decided to take his dream into the adventurous Mainland China. At the same time, Ying, Kong's wife had become the first "Working Housewives".The cinema had let Kong experience the different dimensions of life. Yet it had shown him all stories would always end in hope. The film is directed by Mr. Samson Chiu. It is another film signifying the spirit of Hong Kong people.

~Felix Wong, Karen Mok, Andy Lau Tak Wah. Twelve-year-old Kong is an unhappy child. He has not been happy since his mother's suicide three years ago, which he blames on his father and stepmother. He runs away from home one day and meets an eerie old man who claims he has a potion that can speed up the life process. As much as he would like to believe it, this is all baloney to him. So when he accidentally taints his blood with the potion, he hardly expects his fate is about to change forever. ~Daniel Wu, Karen Mok Man-Wai, Eason Chan, Stephen Fung. It is triad boss, Hung’s dying wish that his son be found. Sam has always romanticized triads so when Hung’s men come looking for the prodigal son in Thailand, he gladly takes on the role. It is his gay housemate Georgie, played by Daniel Wu, who is the true heir however. Georgie was sent away as a child to study in France by his homophobic father, something Georgie struggles with throughout the movie. Fortunately, there is no wailing and gnashing of teeth here. It is a slapstick ride through mistaken identity and ubiquitous love triangles.

Another triad boss’ daughter Julie, played by Karen Mok falls for Georgie. Georgie still loves his boyfriend back in Thailand. Sam loves Julie. Sam is supposed to be gay. The love stories intertwine as rival gang member Chow Siu, played by Stephen Fung, tries to eradicate the new threat to his supremacy.

There are two lovely cameos by Nicholas Tse Ting-Fung and Sammi Cheng Sau-Man. To perfection, the two stars send up their roles in HK celebritydom and some recent films. Mafia references are met by Latino music, which seem to imbue Stephen Fung’s Chow Siu with an Antonio Banderas-like Desperado feel as his long hair flows and guns blaze. Chapman To Man-Chan and Law Kar-Ying play the Simpsons of the piece -- the dysfunctional family unit that most would love to emulate.
