Item Description
This memory card adapter has three very important functions built into one. First, it allows saves to be stored on SmartMedia Flash cards and EMS Flash Cards. Smart Media Cards are the same memory cards used for digital cameras and other digital devices, you will need the SmartMedia AddOn to connect them. The third function is the ability to link to a PC to transfer saves. Use the PC as an unlimited memory card and upload/download saves through the internet.
Examples:
If you only want to use the savegames which are available off the Internet, the PS2 Memory Adapter and the PS2 Memory Adapter PC Cable is enough. You don't need anything else.
If you want to do all this, but also use your SmartMedia Cards, you'll need the seperately sold SmartMedia AddOn.
If you are looking for an alternative storage media to save your gamesaves to, you may try the EMS Flash Memory Cards, we do have 8M, 16M and 32M.

Excellent. BEST cost-benefit option for saves.
If you use this with the PC Link cable (and if you do, you need nothing else) you can have as much save space as you need. You can have all of you computers hard drive as saves. Of course you cant have them all at once, becouse you need to write them to a memory card to use. But you problably wont need them all at once anyway. So, with a single 8Mb Memory Card you can have all the saves you need and keep the others on the PC. I olny with it was a bit faster reading/writing and that it could better identify the games the save relate to. Maybe even use Icons for each game. But text would be just as good. Some games display the name on text. Others (maybe older) only show the file code. but try and see what they are. If it could identify the games better it would be easyer. But it is still so good... And even more: You can DOWNLOAD and UPLOAD saves on the internet... that is also VERY good.
