description

Redux: Dark Mattersis a high resolution space shmup packed full of incredibly fast paced robot blasting! With fresh scoring elements and an incredible soundtrack composed by Andre Neuman, featuring legendary video game composer Chris Huelsbeck (Turrican, R-Type), the whole game experience is as polished as you could ask for.

Developed by ReneHellwig from the famousNG:DEV.TEAM (GunLord,Fast Striker,Last Hope, andDUX) and programmed by KTX Software DevelopmentRedux:Dark Mattersis as unforgiving as veterans have come to expect from classic shmup titles.

With an incrediblyheavy focus upon gameplay, with story taking a backseat,Redux: Dark Mattersbrings power-ups, big bosses and everything you would expect from an arcade shooter to the table - along with a formidable learning curve.

Redux: Dark Matters supports the following devices:VMU,VGA,Original pad, andArcade stick.

Alright Shmup
I love the fact that Dreamcast still gets new gamesonce in awhile especially shmups!!! I admit that I am not a Dux vet or know the finer points of the previous versions. I bought this version just because I rather buy games from play asia than hucast directly and this was yet to be release so I could get it far more easily than the others. I feel for my first few times playing this the challenge was good enough while not over doing it like some of the more hardcore shmups out there. I do agree with many other that the graphics are far to blurring especially when compared to indie titles for the DC like Sturmwind. The music is solid as well as most of the sound effects. The presentation is rather bland but that doesn't really effect gameplay. I am however disappointed that there is no remapping buttons option which prevents me from using my arcade stick! This very thing effects the experience the most since space ship shooter games were born in the arcades!!! Maybe I need to quit living in the past but that is how I play Fighting games and Shmups. Bottom line is if you like the Dreamcast and don't mind that is isn't the greatest shooter out there but enjoyable enough then pick this up before it becomes "rare" like the other version and becomes overpriced on E-bay.
