quite a decent racing game
It\'s quite a decent game, and it probably is the best racing game currently available on the DS - although that\'s not saying much, as Asphalt (mediorce racing game) is its only competition.
Ridge Racer DS is a port of the original Ridge Racer arcade hit made over a decade ago, with elements of Ridge Racer 64. The graphics are ok, quite decent for the DS, and the game plays much like the classic Ridge Racer - you\'ll enjoy it if you\'re into arcadey type racing with lots of crazy powerslides - it\'s not aiming to be realistic when you don\'t need to brake - it\'s fun just powersliding through everything!
There\'s the classic racing mode where you attempt to beat each track to progress to another stage of more challenging tracks, etc. And there\'s also another challenge type mode where you can unlock new cars. I haven\'t been able to try the multiplayer mode, but I think it will rock.
For its price, it presents extremely good value - recommended if you\'re dying to play another racing game on the DS.

I ordered it on sunday night and got it today saturday moring, hong kong to the UK in under a week.
All in all the game is not half bad for under £15.

Handling problems
This game is nice and cheap but Namco did a big mistake with the handling.
A lot of bugs with the 3D engine, you drive the only car wich drift in all curves, CPU cars do not drift and take all curves at max speed so the difficulty is high.
I recommend you to wait for another car game, maybe NFSU2 when it will be released.
