a breakthrough in the series, in every way
"just... one more turn..."

is this what will bug you as you play this game. no doubt the current episode in this series has taken a big turn to what has been done so far, i found it to be in the right track.

however, if you are a huge fan of the civ series and not one to move out of the comfort zone - go download the demo from steam (it's FREE) before you buy the game.

i won't mention the changes here to spoil your expectations of the game, since there is already a demo which gives you a very good preview of how the game is like.

Very different... definitely check out the Demo first...
I had been looking forward to this game since it was announced. When I finally had a PC decent enough to play it, I grabbed the game without thinking, without even questioning.

I have given this game a fair shake, and I just do not enjoy it. It is vastly different from the previous games, which might be a good thing for others, but for me, it was a game I could not enjoy.

Definitely download the demo first, you might be like me, a sorely disappointed player who has a game he can not trade in, or re-sell, and will sit forever collecting dust on hist shelf, a constant reminder of things that might have been.

Civ 5
The game may be different from others in franchise but still a great addition to the genre. Even though its a big step no one wants the same game 5 times. Great Game and a Good Title.

The love of Civilization series with the mix of Risk
Civilization combines a mix of the civilization series known in the past with the board game, Risk.
This game involves less micromanagement compared to previous titles in the series along with a complete overhaul in the game play elements.
Good title and can get you to play longer than you really should, but there are minor bugs in the game and since it is connected to steam, you may have to download updates regardless you want to or not (not that it may matter if you plan to play online)

Steam game
With this version, quite a bit has changed, making it very dissimilar to previous versions. I'd suggest trying the DEMO FIRST before you buy, as the changes may appeal to some and really push away others.

Anyway, This game is fun to play. The system requirements are high and may cause the purchase or upgrade of a new computer. And, you cannot run the game except through an internet connection called Steam.
