It's the US Super Mario 2, but the Japanese release
If you have played Super Mario Bros. 2 on the American or European Nintendo, then you have played this game before. There doesn't seem to be any differences between the US and Japanese versions other than different cartridges.
This Mario game stands out from the rest because it is the only one you pick up radishes and other vegetables and throw them at enemies. This is also the only real Mario game where King Koopa and the koopa troopas are not the enemies. Instead, you see Shyguys, phantom masks, ninjis, and Birdos. This is also the first time you get to see Mouser who also appeared in Mario Story.
The game is fairly simple. Run to the right, jump over enemies, collect hearts, pick up enemies or vegetables, and play as multiple characters. You get to play as Mario, Luigi, Princess, & Toad.
Of all the Mario games on Famicom, this one is probably the easiest (with the exception of Wart, the last boss) and only 1 player.
Super Mario USA usually scores pretty low compared to other Mario games, but I really like this game because it is different and stands out.
