This is a game, but you are not a player. A KO in Sword Art Online means certain death. Veteran gamer Kirito leads the players to the 75th level of the labyrinth, and there he defeats the game master Heathcliff. However, that isn't the end of the story, because he still hasn't found a way to log out and bring his friends back to reality.

The game takes place after the end of the first story arc. Kirito and his friends are on the 76th level of the labyrinth. The creator of the series, best-selling writer Reki Kawahara have designed new trials for the characters. In this game, you will be partnered up with an AI controlled character, by fighting with him or her side by side, you can raise your partner into someone you can truly entrust your back to.

SAO, Limited edition! at least, in Asia.
So...SAO. It was a pretty amazing LN, to me, the anime was a bit disappointing but still good. There are some fanmade games but those are mostly simple rpg's, so imagine the delight one would have from seeing it come out as a proper game by a proper developer.

So, i decided i'd get a limited edition. Unfortunately for me, they were mostly sold out when i finally remembered that pre-orders were open. All the other websites that sold it cheaply were, ahem, sold out. So i decided on buying it from Play-Asia because it was the only one that had stock to be bought on the 15th, the first day of restock.(other sites were content with the sold preorders and didn't restock)

Limited edition, as you would know, entails a HIGHER price. From Ringgit, the cheaper websites sold it for about RM 350 or so(That was the Japan release price), whereas Play Asia sold is for about RM 650+(Price for getting it nearby to us, for ease i suppose?). But well, Desperation leads to money flying away. So i got one of the last 5 copies available after work. ( As of now there are some copies on Amazon, but if i remember correctly Amazon is for Americans only. Each feature the lower price that i stated above. Also, Well, EBAY)

Sure, it was a big blow to my wallet but this edition contained some special stuff that i really wanted. So, this review was meant to talk about that anyway so sorry for blabbing so much.

So here are what is included:
An exclusive limited edition box
Infinity Moment Special Content DVD1
Infinity Moment Special Content DVD2
A soundtrack CD
Special booklet
A custom PSP theme
In game Swimsuit Armor

The box looks nice, it's sitting on my table next to my laptop.
The special content DVDs were really why i bought this edition. Featuring a cool CG movie and there was a "Have a date with Asuna in Aincrad". That was a fun little tidbit added in, and i liked it. It was exclusive to the limited edition and since i love Visual Novels(Or stuff that's like it), it was a must-get. (Honestly i never had time to check them out but the screenshots looks cool)
Soundtracks, well, at least now i don't have to go find them on google.
The booklet is kinda cool, featuring character art, character explanations, game locales and some SAO backstory, some Event CG's to let you know whats coming your way!
Admittedly, i still have no idea how to get that custom theme but it should be great.
That In Game swimsuit armour...From screenshots they look decent, a Japanese School Swimsuit. But i suppose i prefer a character's default look normally. (Well, they need to be in RANK 1 relationship to wear it and that's hard to get).

Also, the stuff in the standard edition (Game and Game booklet) are obviously there too.

Game content, well, look elsewhere for a game review, cause i got nothing. This is a product review.

Is it worth it...? Well, that's really up to your judgement and also, where you buy it from.
If you get it for the RM 350 or so price, then i'd say it's worth it, personally anyway, for all the stuff you're getting.
For the RM 650+ price...If you're desperate and are a huge SAO fan, go ahead i guess. Otherwise, you might reconsider as to how much of a hit your wallet might be taking. Or you know, if you're like me, and want the special stuff, anything is probably worth it to you.

And, if you don't understand Japanese it might retract from the experience, cause, you know, it's not localised yet. There are online guides that help out though!

Final rating : 4/5 stars. (Really the only reason for me to not give it perfect is the price in proportion to what you're actually getting, looking from the perspective of a non-hardcore fan).
