Tales of Eternia (PlayStation the Best)

While not bad by any means, this game has lost its value with time. With the generic story and mediocre voice acting, the main saving grace of this game is the gameplay. While well balanced overall, the gameplay elements, notably those introduced here such as cooking and manual battle control, can all be found much improved upon in future series installments. The Tales games blur from one to the next and thrive on fanservice, so pick up the latest game if you feel so inclined; Tales of Vesperia.

This game has the good and the bad but i think that it is one of the better Tales games before the series started to get complicated (starting with Tales of Symphoinia) This game has some great character interaction and the Battle system is glorious. They make it a little bit difficult by not letting you get all the magic spells.

Like most of the \'Tales\' series, this is a truly great game -- it has some of the usual RPG cliches, sure (orphaned, teenaged hero/heroine off on a big adventure to save the world [or in this case, worlds], etc.), but there\'s more than enough to allow you to easily overlook -- even forget -- that fact. Character interaction is superb (and often hilarious), many of the characters who initially appear stereotypical quickly reveal themselves to be much more three-dimensional than you might initially believe, there are plenty of secrets and side-quests to keep you going, and, best of all, the BATTLE SYSTEM! I\'ve never had more fun battling in an RPG than I did playing Tales of Eternia. Definitely, definitely worth a look. It\'s available as \'the Best\' for a reason.
