Not being a fan of this genre, I've already formed an opinion of this "collection" of "House of the Dead" games. I've given them a shot in the arcades and they simply don't interest me much. They're not as interesting as, say, "Police 911," which uses keen motion-sensing technology to give the game realism.

When I heard the Wii was going to give the series a new home, I had mixed feelings. On the one hand, light gun games are typically not enjoyed for a long time, as the boring, repetitive game play gets old very quick. On the other hand, seeing as how the Wii is lacking in Wiimote-dominant games, this compilation is a welcomed sight.

The gameplay is near arcade-style, but the Wiimote is a bit shaky. Using a gun attachment helps, but it's just not "right." The basic mechanics aside, at least the game offers unlockables in the form of additional credits and other slight game-changing enhancements.

It would have been nice to have the entire "HotD" series on the disc, but I figure that'll be covered down the road if this release sells well. Maybe "HotD w/ HotD4."

If you enjoy light gun games, you've probably already played this game at the local arcade. Give the Wii version a shot, but make sure you have a gun attachment and a very steady hand.
