The Return and Rebirth of a Classic! Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers Launches Worldwide May 2017!!

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers
Capcom | Nintendo Switch™ | Genre: Fighting game
Release date: Worldwide - May 26, 2017

With the release of the Nintendo Switch, we're all eagerly anticipating all the new games that'll be coming to the Switch in the coming months. One title, in particular, is one many long-time Nintendo fans will fondly remember as the game that got them hooked on the fighting game genre, Street Fighter II

Street Fighter II: The Fight Challengers will be an updated version of the 1994 classic Street Fighter II: Turbo and will feature new mechanics, new modes, and balance tweaks. There will also be two graphical styles, the classic pixel art of the SNES and an updated HD art style. Depending on the art style you choose to play in, the character voices will either use their classic SFII voices in the pixel art or their Japanese SFVI voices in the HD art style.

The game's roster will contain all the characters from SFII Turbo, including Akuma who'll be able to select straight off the bat. There'll also be two additional characters in the form of Evil Ryu, who first made his appearance in SF Alpha 2, and Violent Ken, who was only ever shown in the cross-over game SNK vs. Capcom. With these alternate versions of Ken and Ryu, that brings the roster up to a total of nineteen characters! You'll also be able to make you'll own alternate color palettes for each character!

The game will have both Local and Online multiplayer available, with the online multiplayer having a point-based ranking system. Online players will also be able to jump into other player's arcade mode if they have "Standby" feature enabled and take over the CPU character. Another new mode call "Buddy Mode" is also included, which will allow players to team up with a friend in two-on-one fights against CPU fighters. There will also be a simple One-Hit KO mode.

Lastly, we just got to mention this unusual new single player mode called "Way of the
Hado". Players will take control of Ryu in a first person view, and will be using the JoyCon controllers to simulate his Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku to fight off the hordes enemies on screen.

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will be release worldwide on May 26th, 2017!
