Just like the real-life Sydney Olympics of 2000, VIRTUA ATHLETE lets you take a shot at a variety of track and field events such as dashes, hurdles, shot put, high jump, and many more. You can even make an athlete of your own design, send her to the Olympic games, and see how she fares! Youll have to have your reflexes on call, because winning events usually depends on how fast you can tap the buttons, and how much button-tapping your fingers can take. Set in a variety of 3D locales, the game places its emphasis squarely on realism, depicting each of the events in fine detail. The graphics are breathtaking and the sounds will instantly transport you to the center of a packed stadium. Play alone, head-to-head against a friend, or with up to four total players going at it.
