Weekly Games Update: Redemption: Liar, Hakuoki: Yuugi Roku, FIFA World Cup 2010, Lost Planet 2, Skate 3, Picross 3D & more!



Welcome to this week's Games Update, our weekly summary featuring all new product arrivals from the last seven days. This week is rather calm, perhaps game developers are preparing for the big releases next week. Today, we have games for the niches, Redemption: Liar is one of the first action RPGs developed for the GP2X Wiz and Hakuouki Yuugi Roku is a minigame collection featuring the chibi shinsengumi members.

Form a party of knights and travel to the dark, deep caverns of the underworld. Destroy monsters and level up your characters until you can take down a god.

This is an epic RPG filled with magical items and seemingly impossible tasks. There are more than 200 characters you can recruit into your party and some of the most breathtaking scenarios.

Besides the RPG, the SD card contains 5 other arcade games such as the shooters Truxton, TigerHeli, Slap Fight and Hellfire, and the arcade action Warder. Those who have not had the chance to play these games in the arcade, you can now play then on your GP2X Wiz:

Hakuouki Yuugi Roku is a peek into the daily lives of the shinsengumi members, play mini games with them and see their not-so-serious sides. Each member is in charge of a chore, clothes washing, tea-making and daily training. Go help them out and know more about them.

See the regular proportioned swordsmen in the adventure part and do daily chores with them in the mini game parts. During the mini games, all the swordsman will be chibi-fied, come see their cute sides and gush.

FIFA World Cup started in the 1930 in Uruguay, this year, the 19th World Cup games will be held in South Africa and is the largest sports event of the year. Join in the event through your favorite console.

Be a team captain, take two of your team mates to the field, adopt different positions, cooperate with each other to win the game. Make use of the different skills of your team mates to reach the finals in South Africa. While you can control soccer stars, you can also create your own character.

This is a world event, challenge soccer teams from around the world, take your team through the group league to the final tournaments. Your achievements will be displayed in your country's ranking boards. You get points for every winning, take your country to victory.

For beginners, you can move your game characters and make them dash, and for offense, you only have to use two buttons. You can enjoy some realistic soccer action even when you are using the simplest modes. Other control sets are the Classic and the New Control, for all these sets, you can customize the button presses.

You have advantages when you are playing in your home country but when playing in other teams' soil, your teammates may suffer from fatigue easier. FIFA 2010 have game data and strategies on all countries, work out tactics to avoid opponents from exploiting your members week points.

Terraforming efforts have been successful, the ice have melted and you get a lot more places to explore in Lost Planet 2. Of course, your foes are more powerful but so are your arsenal of weapons, besides fire arms, you have vital suits, robots which you can pilot with partners to stampede your enemies.

Express yourself through action and speed, bring a friend into Skate 3 with you, the new cooperative game mode, advance each others careers and kick off all the small fries around you. Besides building a career, you can build your own grounds, make a skate park that allows you to show all your moves.

Don't let the heroes venture into your world, teach them something about personal space. Breed monsters, create labyrinths and throw all you've got against the heroes. The gorgeous retro art, funny story and puzzle solving mechanism in What Did I Do to Deserve This 2 will keep you glued to your Sony PSP for hours.

Enough of muscle action? train your brain. Picross 3D was a huge hit in Japan when it first came out. The interactive gameplay is simple but addictive, and is suitable for players of all ages. Read the hints and eliminate or shade the blocks, if you completed the puzzle you can reveal the 3D picture from within.
