description

Nights of Azure is a tragic tale of two friends faced with impossible decisions that will test their loyalty to their quest and to each other. Set on an uncharted island that floats in the North Sea, Nights of Azure paints a picture of a land where nights are tormented by azure-blooded demons. In this kingdom of Ruswal, very few people leave their homes after the sun has set, let alone have the strength and skill to take on these powerful monsters. One of the best among these brave few is the protagonist, Arnice, a knight of great skill and power, who is assisted by her friend and priestess Lilysse in a quest to rid the land of demons. However, they soon find out that the solution to the island’s problems might not be as simple as defeating enemies in battle.

Story is a little weak, but still fun!
I picked this up because it looked pretty and because Gust. Overall I was not disappointed.

Pros:
-Gorgeous art and music
-Levels are well-crafted and the timer element creates good pacing. It's an easy game to pick up and play for 30 minutes at a time.
-Quite a bit of richness in combat and upgrade/progression choices
-Most of the characters are well-written, well-acted, and very much interesting and likeable. I especially enjoyed the banter between the researcher and the treasure hunter.

Cons-
-I alluded to this above, but Lilysse(リュリーティス) is a painfully generic moe stereotype barely distinguishable from Orihime in Bleach. That's unfortunate since Arnice (アーナス) is actually cool and interesting.
-Combat can get repetitive at times
-Loot is a mess of numbers and complexity that you have to spend entirely too much time sorting through and trying to figure out what to keep and what to sell.
-The way servant leveling and configurations work, there's not a lot of incentive to build and maintain multiple teams of servants. It feels like having 1-2 strong teams is a lot better than having 4 weak teams.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this game and ended up liking it quite a lot. I'm looking forward to the next installment, and hope they'll avoid doing another character like Lilysse (リュリーティス).

A really good game.
About the only complain I have is that there is some slowdown, but nothing as terrible as some people would have you believe. Would be a 5 star if not for the slowdown.

Great action RPG game!
Gameplay is pretty fun and easy to understand, with attractive girl characters. You can organize a mini party of 4 cute summons (something to be expected from Gust?) so no worry about fighting enemies alone (although do not expect too much from the AI).
Only down side for PSV version is that the screen is a bit small + distance camera might make it a bit difficult to see what's going on sometimes, especially during the fight with a lot of special effect on the screen. But it's not that big problem.
Also bonus point for girl x girl relationship if you like it. Yay~ :D
