Essentially what you want from this franchise
Lots of cards, challenging duels, a big timesink. Only real complaints is that the story is dull and the A.I is a bit slow, other that than I would definitely recommend it if you're into the Yugioh franchise!

This game is great!
Everyone who has played YuGiOh before, or atleast knows how to play it, will be able to find something that suits his tastes. There is the story mode for a bit of nostalgia which warms our hearts and gives the game variety.
Then, there are AI controlled opponents for practice and people who don´t have internet access. (Also a great option for people who just want to play a single duel to kill some time fast, without the necessity to search for opponents on the internet or unlock them in the story mode.)
And last but not least, the option to duel real opponents via WiFi. You can look for specific opponents if you have their friend codes (which is like using a simple phone), or you can let the system pick a random opponent based on some basic search criteria. With this feature you can link up with people who have similar rating and/or prefferences than you.

The game features different unlockables and challenges which are fun to do and it motivates you to experiment with deck building to a point, where you start building deck you never even thought could work just to unlock that special bonus you´ve been wondering about.

The online support also speaks in its favor. There is a downloadable card for free every day, there are new puzzles and duelists every month and you can buy unique items and cards for game money you get by dueling real opponents.

The AI is very good, although it still has some minor problems. The biggest is the fact that the AI doesn´t have the same spell/trap card on the field twice, EVER! The second issue is the all over mentioned thinking time. You´ll get acustommed to it, and atleast you can count on the AI making a decent move, so it´s woth the while.

All in all the game is fun, it is well made and has high replay value. I recommend it to anyone who already likes YuGiOh, or likes card games in general and doesn´t want to spend too much money into building a real deck. It´s the best game so far in this series of franchise on the DS
